FAJR REMINDER: A RECAP ABOUT BINT AL-ḤĀRITH
By: Umm Affān
Shawwāl 23, 1447 (11-April-2026)
She grew up as a princess in her father’s home and later became a queen in the household of her husband. More importantly, she was a sincere and courageous servant of Allāh. Through her marriage to the Prophet (ﷺ), she was elevated to the noble rank of being among the Mothers of the Believers. What a tremendous honor granted to our mother, Juwayriyah Bint Al-Ḥārith (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha)!
Her life was a shining example of devotion and righteousness. She passed away in the year 50 A.H at the age of sixty-five, and her funeral prayer was led by Marwān Ibn al-Ḥakam, who was the Governor of Madīnah at the time.
Juwayriyah (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anha) was well known for her commitment to Ṣalāt (prayer), Sawm (fasting), and giving Ṣadaqah (charity). Like the other wives of the Prophet (ﷺ), she was remarkably generous. These are qualities every Muslim should strive to embody and uphold.
Indeed, prayer, fasting, and charity are among the greatest acts of worship. We are blessed to have the finest examples in the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhum). Allāh says (about the companions): “And whoso obeys Allah and the Messenger (Muḥammad ﷺ), then they will be in the company of those on whom Allāh has bestowed His Grace, of the Prophets, the Ṣiddīqun (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abū Bakr Aṣ-Ṣiddīq), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are!” [Sūrah An-Nisā' (4): 69]
I beseech Allāh to be pleased with Juwayriyah, to honor her final abode, and to grant her a lofty place of rest. Aameen.
