Yaum Athalaatha | 26th Shawwāl, 1447 AH | Tuesday, 14th April 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURAH Al-A‘LAA (Qur’an 87)_*. BismilLah. 


CONTEXT / BACKGROUND OF THE SUURAH:


Suurah Al-A‘la was revealed in Makkah early in the Prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It came at a time when: The message of Islam was still new and being rejected by many in Makkah. The Prophet ﷺ was being reassured and strengthened. The focus was on Tawheed (Oneness of ALLAH), revelation, and accountability. 


This Suurah emphasizes on: Glorifying ALLAH Azzawajal,  Trusting in divine revelation, The success of those who purify themselves, A reminder that guidance has always been sent before (e.g., scriptures of Ibrahim and Musa).


Verse 1

سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى

Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High. Commentary:

ALLAH Azzawajal commands us to declare HIS perfection, HE is above all نقص (imperfection). This includes saying SubḥānAllāh and living in a way that honors HIM. To be continued tomorrow in Shaa ALLAH.

 *BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
