*Story of Jamil*
[[--Part 1 of 2--]]

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Before the story of brother Jamil, read this and reflect wisely:

Anyone who has ever been on an out-of-town journey would testify to the pre-travel stress and jitters. One aspect of the preparations is to make sure that, once the packing is done and the travel arrangements are made, everything the traveller leaves behind—from his belongings and house to his family—is protected and cared for until his return.

This analogy finds its deepest truth in the life of a Believer. Our ultimate journey is to the Akhirah, a voyage that begins with our death. The wise traveller does not only prepare for the journey itself with acts of worship and righteousness, but he also ensures that what he leaves behind in the world continues to benefit him long after he has departed.

My People,

Among the most precious provisions for this journey is the midnight prayer, Tahajjud. It is the secret conversation with your Lord when the world is asleep. It is the time when prayers are answered, sins are forgiven, and the soul is fortified with a divine light. To wake up in the depths of the night, to stand before Allah in sincere submission, is to pack your journey with the most valuable currency of all: His Pleasure and Mercy.

But what if your preparations could be multiplied? What if the provisions you gather for your eternal journey could continue to accumulate, even while you sleep in your grave?

The truly insightful believer understands that his responsibility does not end with his own personal worship. Just as you would ensure your family is safe and provided for in your physical absence, your spiritual legacy demands the same care. When you inspire your spouse, your children, or your siblings to rise for Tahajjud, you are not just guiding them; you are building a caravan of light that will accompany you on your lonely journey.

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like the one who did it (no matter their population).” 📚(Sahih Muslim)

Imagine this: You have passed on from this world. Yet, in the stillness of the night, your son rises, your daughter makes wudu, your wife stands in prayer. With every prostration they make, with every verse they recite, a share of that immense reward is recorded in your own book of deeds.

Servants of Allah!

Do not be content with being a solitary traveller who has packed only for himself. Strive to be the reason the doors of Jannah open for you and for those you love. Ensure that your legacy in this world is not just wealth or property, but a family whose night prayers become a continuous stream of reward flowing to you, long after you have embarked on your final journey.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

We should strive harder to be like brother Jamil. Yes. Be the reason the doors of Jannah open for those you love. Ensure that your legacy in this world is not just wealth or property, but a family that meets its Lord in a state of pleasure.

My People,

For guiding the people you love to the darkness of the night prayer, you are securing for yourself an eternity of light in your second life.

This reminds me,

For years, Brother Jamil’s secret was the cold tile beneath his feet in the deep, silent night. His Tahajjud prayers were his personal sanctuary. He prayed for everything, but most fervently, he whispered the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim (a. s.): "My Lord, make me and my descendants establishers of prayer." 📚(Quran 14:40) He longed for a legacy of faith, not just wealth, for his wife and two children.

One winter night, watching his sleeping family, the analogy struck him: his entire life was a pre-journey preparation for Akhirah. But what good was a perfectly packed suitcase if those he loved most were left vulnerable? A profound conviction settled in his heart. His worship was not complete if it was only for himself.

He initiated efforts of waking up his family members for Tahajjud. It wasn't easy at a start, but slowly, the sacred darkness began to change them. Jamil watched his wife find a deep, unshakable peace that brightened her entire day, and he saw a unique light of faith kindle in his son’s eyes. Their family Tahajjud became a silent, powerful bond, a shared secret of divine love that fortified them against the noise of the world and evil plans of all evil creatures.

Years later, when Jamil’s own journey to the Akhirah began, a profound silence settled in the house. But on the very first night after his burial, his wife awoke to an empty space beside her. Her heart led her to the prayer room, where she found young Adam and Abdallah (ages below 13 years) already standing in front of Allah - in prayers. They had laid out three prayer mats. With tears streaming down her face, she joined them (using the third prayer mat), and as they bowed, she felt a certainty warmer than the dawn. Jamil was gone, but his record of good deeds remained wide open. Every prostration and Du'a his family members made, became a continuous, flowing reward—an eternal harvest from the seeds of guidance he had so lovingly planted, ensuring he would never stop receiving the blessings of the sacred nights he had gifted them.

Major Lesson:

The most valuable legacy a believer can leave is not material wealth, but a living tradition of faith. By guiding one's family to righteous deeds like Tahajjud, a person secures a continuous stream of divine reward that flows to them long after their death, turning their loved ones into a perpetual source of blessings for their own Akhirah journey.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
