*THE ILLUSION OF REFLECTION*

Once there was a king who had presented his daughter, the princess, with a beautiful diamond necklace. The necklace went missing & his people in the kingdom searched everywhere but could not find it. Some said a bird might have stolen it. The king then put a reward for $50,000 for anyone who found it.

One day a clerk was walking home along a river next to an industrial area. This river was completely polluted, filthy & smelly. As he was walking, he saw something shimmering in the river . To his surprise it was the diamond necklace. He felt so happy. If only he could get the necklace out, that would mean the $50,000 reward would be his.

He put his hand into the filthy river & grabbed at the necklace, but somehow missed it.Taking his hand out, he looked again. The necklace was still there. He tried again & again. Just when he thought he caught it, he missed.

Finally he decided to wade into the river. Then he would be able to put his entire arm in to catch the necklace. But yet again, he still could not catch it! He came out stinking , his trousers filthy & began walking away, feeling depressed.

Then he spotted the necklace right there. This time he was determined to get it, no matter what. Although it meant his entire body would become filthy & it was a disgusting thing to do, he decided to plunge into the river. But still after searching everywhere, he failed. This time he was really bewildered & came out feeling even more depressed as he thought of the $50,000 reward slipping away.

Just then a saint who was walking by saw him. Noticing his appearance, the saint asked him if something was wrong .The clerk didn't want to share the secret with the saint, thinking the saint might take the necklace for himself, so he refused to tell the saint anything. But the saint could see this man was troubled & being compassionate, again asked the clerk to tell him the problem & promised that he would not tell anyone about it. The clerk mustered up the courage & told him about the necklace that however much he tried to catch the necklace, he could not get it.

The saint suggested that perhaps he should try looking upward, toward the branches of the tree, instead of in the filthy river. The clerk looked up & true enough, the necklace was dangling on the branch of a tree. He had been trying to capture a mere reflection of the real necklace all this time!

Material happiness is just like the filthy, polluted river; because it is a mere reflection of the TRUE happiness of the spiritual world.

It does not matter how hard we endeavor in this material life,we can never achieve the happiness we are looking for.
Instead we should look upwards, toward Allah Subhana Ta'ala , who is the Source of real, true, lasting happiness,
Let's stop chasing after this illusion of happiness in the material world. Attaining the love of اللّه Subhana Ta'ala, striving in His obedience & following His beloved Rasul sallallaahu alayhi wasallam is the only thing that can give us the peace, happiness & contentment we so long for & satisfy us completely.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
