FAJR REMINDER: THEY WILL LATER ENTER PARADISE (II)

Among the inhabitants of Hell will be some Muslims—people who died upon Eemān (faith)—whom Allāh wills to punish because of the sins they committed in this worldly life. They engaged in major sins such as consuming Ribā, committing fornication, drinking intoxicants, killing unjustly, devouring the wealth of orphans, stealing from others, backbiting, slandering, and other sinful acts. However, despite these grave sins, their records are free from Shirk, as they did not associate partners with Allāh or give His Right to other than Him.
If Allāh punishes them in Hell as part of His Perfect Justice, they will not remain there forever. Their stay in Hell will be temporary, unlike the eternal punishment of the disbelievers. Eventually, they will be taken out and admitted into Jannah (Paradise) through the intercession of the Angels, the Prophets, and above all, by the limitless Mercy of Allāh. Even so, Hell is a place of unbearable torment, and no believer should ever feel safe from it.
Abū Sa’īd Al-Khudri (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) mentioned that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “When the people of Paradise have entered Paradise, and the people of the Fire have entered the Fire, Allāh will say, ‘Take out (of the Fire) whoever has got faith equal to a mustard seed in his heart.’ They will come out, and by that time they would have burnt and became like coal, and then they will be thrown into the river of Al-Ḥayyāt (life) and they will spring up just as a seed grows on the bank of a rainwater stream.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Don't you see that the germinating seed comes out yellow and twisted?” [Ṣaḥiḥ al-Bukhārī 6560]
This narration clearly shows the immense Mercy of Allāh toward those who possessed even the smallest amount of true faith in their hearts. Though they may be punished for their sins, their belief in Tawḥīd will eventually save them from eternal punishment.
Also, ‘Abdullāh Ibn Mas’ūd (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) mentioned that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said: “I know the last of the people of Hell to be brought forth, and the last of the people of Paradise to enter therein. It will be a man who will emerge crawling from Hell, and Allāh will say to him: ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will come to it and it will appear to him to be full.’ He will go back and say, ‘O Lord, I found it full.’ Allāh will say to him: ‘Go and enter Paradise.’ He will come to it and it will appear to him to be full.’ He will go back and say, ‘O Lord, I found it full.’ Allāh will say to him: ‘Go and enter Paradise, and you will have the equivalent of the whole world and ten times as much.’ He will say, ‘Are You mocking me – or laughing at when – when You are the Sovereign?’” He said: “And I saw the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) smiling so broadly that his molar teeth could be seen.” And he used to say: “This is the lowest of the people of Paradise in status.” [Sunan Ibn Mājah 4339]
Subḥānallāh! If this is the reward of the lowest-ranking person in Paradise, then how unimaginable must be the blessings prepared for those who are higher in rank? The least person in Jannah will receive the equivalent of this world ten times over. This reminds us of how magnificent, beautiful, and everlasting Paradise truly is. Jannah is undoubtedly the ultimate success, and every believer should strive for it with sincerity, patience, and obedience to Allāh.
I beseech Allāh to make us enter Jannah in peace. Aameen.
