*SULTAN MURAD LEADS HIS PRAYER*

The Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

*“Keep away from ill-thinking (suspicions) because ill-thinking is the greatest falsehood.” [Sahih Bukhari]*

➡ *Sultan Murad IV*, the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1623-1640, would often anonymously go into the midst of the people to see their state.

✒  One evening, he felt an uneasiness in himself and the urge to go out. He called for his head of security and out they went.

_They came to a busy vicinity and found a man lying on the ground. The Sultan prodded him but he was dead while people were going about their own businesses. Nobody seemed to care about the dead man lying on the ground._

✒ The Sultan called out to the people. They didn’t recognise him and asked him what he wanted.

✒ He said, “Why is this man lying dead on the ground and why does no one seem to care? Where is his family?”

_*They replied, “He is so and so, the drunkard and fornicator!”*_

_The Sultan said, “Is he not from the Ummah of Muhammad (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam)? Now help me carry him to his house.”_

✒ So they carried the dead man to his house and then left. Only the Sultan and his assistant remained.

✒ When the man’s wife saw his dead body, she began weeping. She said to his dead body,

_*“Allah have mercy on you! O friend of Allah! I bear witness that you are from the pious ones.”*_

✒ _The Sultan was bewildered. He said, “How is he from the pious ones when the people say such and such things about him. So much so that no one even cared that he was dead?”_

✒ She replied, “I was expecting that.

⚡ My husband would go to the tavern every night and buy as much wine as he could. He would then bring it home and pour it all down the drain. He would then say, “I saved the Muslims a little today.”

⚡ He would then go to a prostitute, give her some money and tell her to close her door till the morning. He would then return home for a second time and say, “Today I saved a young woman and the youth of the believers from vice.”

✒ The people would see him buy wine and they would see him go to the prostitutes and they would consequently talk about him.

✒ One day I said to him, “When you die, there will be no one to bathe you, there will be no one to pray over you and there will be no one to bury you!”

_*He laughed and replied, “Don’t fear, the Sultan of the believers, along with the pious ones shall pray over my body.”*_

✒The Sultan began to cry. He said, “By Allah! He has said the truth, for I am Sultan Murad. Tomorrow we shall bathe him, pray over him and bury him.”

And so it happened that the Sultan, the scholars, the pious people and the masses prayed over him.

➡ We judge people by what we see and what we hear from others. We do not see what is concealed in their hearts, a secret between them and their Lord.

*“O you who believe, abstain from many of the suspicions. Some suspicions are sins. And do not be curious (to find out faults of others), and do not backbite one another. Does one of you like that he eats the flesh of his dead brother? You would abhor it. And fear Allah. Surely Allah is Most-Relenting, Very-Merciful.”     (49:12)*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD

*BEST TIME FOR TAHAJJUD* It is best to delay this prayer to the last third portion of the night. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him? Who is asking something of Me so I may give it to him? Who is asking for My forgiveness so I may forgive him?"' This is related by the group. 'Amr ibn Abasah reports that he heard the Prophet say: "The closest that a slave comes to his Lord is during the middle of the latter portion of the night. If you can be among those who remember Allah, the Exalted One, at that time then do so." This is related by al-Hakim who grades it sahih according to Muslim's standards, and at-Tirmizhi calls it hasan sahih. AnNasa'i and Ibn Khuzaimah also recorded it. Abu Muslim asked Abu Zharr: "Which late-night prayer is the best?" He said: "I asked the Messenger of A...
