FAJR REMINDER: THE HOURIS OF JANNAH

How delightful and breathtaking Jannah (Paradise) truly is! Its beauty and comfort are so overwhelming that even the one with the least share of its blessings will feel as though he possesses the greatest fortune of all.
Abū Sa’īd Al-Khudri (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The lowest of people in status in Paradise will be a man whose face Allāh turns away from the Fire towards Paradise, and shows him a tree giving shade. He will say, ‘O Lord, bring me closer to that tree so that I may be in its shade… Then he will enter his house (in Paradise) and his two wives (from among Al-Ḥūr al-'ayn) with large and dark eyes will come in and will say to him, ‘Praise be to Allāh who brought you to life for us and brought us to life for you.’ Then he will say, ‘No one has been given what I have been given.’” [Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 188]
From the immense favors that Allāh has prepared for the believing men in Jannah are Al-Ḥūr al-‘Ayn—pure and beautiful companions of Paradise. They are righteous wives, untouched by any man or jinn before them, created as a reward for the people of Eemān. Allāh says: “And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious). Like unto preserved pearls. A reward for what they used to do.” [Sūrah Al-Wāqi’ah (55): 22]
Their beauty is beyond human imagination. It is described in such a way that even the marrow of their shins can be seen from beneath their garments due to their radiance and purity. Anas Ibn Mālik (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) reported that he heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) say: “…If a woman from among the people of Paradise were to look at the people of this earth, she would light up all that is in between them and fill it with fragrance. The veil on her head is better than this world and all that is in it.’” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 2796] Subḥānallāh!
I beseech Allāh, out of His Mercy and Generosity, to grant us and our husbands entry into Jannah, where they will be united with us and blessed with Al-Ḥūr al-‘Ayn. Aameen.
