ALLĀH, the Exalted, admitted a woman into Paradise because of a dog and another into the Hellfire because of a cat. The first was a prostitute from the children of Israel; because she once gave drink to a thirsty dog. ALLĀH forgave her and admitted her into Paradise. This was a just recompense for her sincerity in doing a good deed, for her sincerity to ALLĀH (Sub-haanahu wata'aala). The second was a woman who confined a cat to a room. They called for a general meeting and elected a committee of twenty-five men of Quraish notables with Abu Lahab, the Prophet's uncle, as a chairman. As the prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) said: "When Allāh intends good for a person, He grants him understanding of religion." So read easily- available books of knowledge and understanding of Islam, such as Riyād as-Sālihīn, Fiqh as-Sunnah, Figh as-Dalīl, easy Tafsīrs (interpretations) and useful essays. Give us that share of obedience to You with which You make us enter Paradise, and a share of the faith that serves to make the calamities of this world seem easy for us. Make us enjoy the blessings of our hearing, sight, and strength as long as You give us life... Grant us revenge against those who have wronged us and help us against those who have transgressed against us. And do not make our calamity to be in our religion; do not make the world to be the most important matter with us, nor make it the extent of our knowledge. And on account of our sins, do not give those who show us no mercy the power to subjugate us."

﷽ *Today's First Hadīth is about welcoming the Prophet ﷺ!* حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ  أَبِي الأَسْوَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ  الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ،  قَالَ ابْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ لاِبْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ـ رضى الله عنهم أَتَذْكُرُ إِذْ  تَلَقَّيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَا وَأَنْتَ وَابْنُ  عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ نَعَمْ، فَحَمَلَنَا وَتَرَكَكَ‏.‏  Narrated Ibn Abi Mulaika:                        Ibn Az-Zubair said to Ibn Ja`far "Do you remember when I, you and Ibn `Abbas went out to receive  Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?" Ibn Ja`far replied in the affirmative. ﷽  *Surah Yusuf, Verse 23:* وَرَاوَدَتْهُ الَّتِي هُوَ فِي بَيْتِهَا عَن نَّفْسِهِ وَغَلَّقَتِ الْأَبْوَابَ وَقَالَتْ هَيْتَ لَكَ قَالَ مَعَاذَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ رَبِّي أَحْسَنَ مَثْوَايَ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الظَّالِمُونَ And she, in whose house he was, sought to seduce him (to do an evil act), she closed the doors and said: "Come on, O you." He said: "I seek refuge in Allah (or Allah forbid)! Truly, he (your husband) is my master! He made my stay agreeable! (So I will never betray him). Verily, the Zalimun (wrong and evil-doers) will never be successful." #COMMENTARY The Azīz had treated Joseph with honour; he was more his guest and son than his slave. When a disbeliever becomes Muslim, ALLAH forgives all that he or she did when he was a non-Muslim, and he becomes cleansed of sin.  In Swaheeh Muslim (121) narrated that ‘Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may ALLAH be pleased with him) said: When ALLAH put Islam in my heart, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) and said: “Give me your right hand so that I may swear allegiance to you.” He held out his hand and I withdrew my hand. He said, “What is the matter, O ‘Amr?” I said, “I want to stipulate a condition.” He said, “What do you want to stipulate?” I said, “That I will be forgiven.” He said, “Do you not know that Islam destroys that which came before it?”  “Islam destroys that which came before it” means that it erases it and wipes it out. Many are those who have purchased this life not with wealth or position, but with deeds. Prophet Ibrāhīm (Abraham) supplicated to His Lord to be remembered well by others and to be prayed for. 'Umar (may ALLĀH be pleased with him) asked the children of Harim Ibn Sinaan, "What has Zuhhayr given you, and what have you given him?" They said, "He complimented us well and we gave him wealth." 'Umar said, "By ALLĀH, what you have given him has perished, and what he has given you has remained."
