*WHO IS THE DEAREST BELOVED?*
*"... And be not distressed because of what they plot..."* (Qur'an 16:127]
Love him more than all others.
Have you ever asked yourself how much you love the Messenger of Allāh (Blessings and Peace be upon him)? Do you know what the sign of that love is? It is doing all that the Messenger of Allāh enjoined and avoiding all that he forbade. Look again at your emotions and direct them, firstly, towards love of Allāh, then love of the one by means of whom Allāh saved us from misguidance. Remember, if you want your position in Paradise to be lofty, the hadīth of the Messenger (Blessings and Peace be upon him): *"A person will be with the one whom he loves."* But one of the first signs and manifestations of that love is doing what he (Blessings and Peace be upon him) commanded. How can anyone claim to love him when he does the opposite of what he enjoined and does not follow his guidance and adhere to his path? Pick up a book of Sīrah (the prophet's biography) and read it; see for yourself how great his attitude was, how noble and kind the way he spoke, how loving his approach, how he feared Allāh and shunned this world. Change your attitude and make it more like his.
*The wives of Nūh and Lūt betrayed their husbands (by rejecting their teachings), so they became insignificant before Allāh. But Āsiyah and Maryam believed, so they were honoured."*
