*IS NOT ALLĀH MORE DESERVING OF THANKS THAN ANYONE ELSE?*
*...My Lord! Build for me a home near You in Paradise...* [Qur'an 66:11]
Thanking Allāh, the Almighty, the All-Merciful, is the best and easiest prescription for happiness and calming the nerves, because when you thank your Lord, you remember the Blessings that He has bestowed upon you, and you appreciate the blessings that you are enjoying. One of the righteous Salaf (predecessors) used to say:
"If you want to know the blessings that Allāh has bestowed upon you, close your eyes." Look at how He He has blessed you with hearing, sight, reason, religious commitment, children, provision, a good life. Some women think little of the blessings that they enjoy, but if they looked at others who are poor, destitute, sick, homeless or traumatised, they would praise Allāh for the blessings that they have, even if they lived in a tent of goat hair or a mud hut or beneath a tree in the desert. Praise Allāh, the Exalted, for these blessings and compare yourself with those who are afflicted with physical or mental health problems, or who cannot hear, or who have lost their children, for there are many such women in this world.
*"Comfort those who have lost their children with a kind word, and wipe away the tears of the poor with charity."*
