Guidelines for Foreplay---Kissing-on the Lips

Kissing one's spouse is an essential part of foreplay and a Sunnahh of Rasulullaah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. Sayyida Ā'isha narrates that Urwah said:

'Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم kissed one of his wives.”

Urwa [the narrator from Sayyida 'A'isha]says, "I asked Sayyida 'A'isha RA,

"It must have been you?" [Upon hearing this] Sayyida 'A'isha smiled." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 86, Sunan Abu Dawud 181 and Sunan al-Nasa'i 170)

This Hadith indicates that kissing one's spouse is recommended, and it demonstrates the importance of kissing one's wife whenever one enters or leaves the house. This was the Sunnah of the beloved Rasul of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم .As such we should practice upon this Sunnah when leaving home and when returning home.

Upon entering, grab her and kiss her with a passion and then hit her with a poem

that you have by now byhearted. The question thereafter will be, ‘To eat or not to

eat?’ cause brother, are you gonna get lucky.

Passionate kissing (or French kissing) is also a Sunnah of Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم . Sayyida 'Ā'ishah relates that:

'Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم would kiss her whilst he was fasting, and he would suck on her tongue." (Sunan Abu Dawud 2378)

According to the Hanafi and most other jurists, kissing one's spouse passionately to the point that it results in the exchange of saliva invalidates one's fast, necessitating both a make-up (qadaa) fast and expiation (kaffaara). (Maraaq'i al-Falaah P: 667)

Explanation of this Hadith

As far as this hadith is concerned, in which Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم kissed his wife

passionately whilst fasting, scholars explain that,

a) Firstly, Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم would ensure not to swallow her saliva. The sucking onthe tongue was very restrained and not to the point where saliva was exchanged

and swallowed.

b) Secondly, it is possible to interpret it, so that sucking on the tongue is not connected to fasting.

As such, the meaning of the hadith is that Rasulullaah صلى الله عليه وسلم would kiss Sayyida Ā'isha whilst he was fasting, and normally when he kissed her (when he was not fasting), he would kiss her passionately and suck on her tongue.

(See: Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani Fath al-Baar'i 4:195 and Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, Badhl al-Majhud fi Haal Abu Dawud 11 :202-203)

In this way, both spouses should kiss each other passionately during foreplay, and

there is nothing wrong if saliva is exchanged. Licking or sucking each other's tongues is not only allowed, but a Sunnah of the beloved of Allaah صلى الله عليه وسلم .One may also suck the lower or upper lip of one's spouse. Biting softly on the lip is also allowed, provided the spouse is not hurt or harmed by it.

Kissing-Not confined to the Lips

Kissing is not restricted to the lips and mouth. One may also kiss other parts of the body such as the cheeks, forehead, tip of the nose, behind the ear or suck on the earlobe, the eyelid, back of the neck, palm of the hand, fingers, wrist, forearm, waist, stomach, navel, chest and breast, spine, behind the knees, thighs and the

leg. In other words, it is permitted to shower one's spouse with kisses all over.

Just as kissing these body parts is permitted, it is likewise allowed to lick them.

As for the area close to the genitalia, one must ensure that no impurity comes into contact with the mouth, since consuming impurities is explicitly forbidden. It is best to avoid getting too close to the genital area with the mouth. This will be explained in more detail in the section pertaining to "oral sex" In sha' Allaah

Ta’aala.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
