The dignity of the wives of the prophet pbuh.
ALHAMDULILLAH, there is no woman a Muslimah will imitate and feel proud like the wives of rasulullah s.a.w like khadijah r.a, sawdah r.a, Ayesha r.a, Umm salama r.a, juwairiyyah r.a, Umm habibah, namlah r.a and the rest.
Allah s.w.t praise them saying,
Al-Ahzab 33:6
The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allah than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed.
The wives of the prophet are our mothers called ummul muminuun(mothers of believers).
Just as It is haraam to marry our mothers, sisters same as the wife of the prophet.
So after the prophet pbuh, none of them marry until they died.
When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was commanded to give option to his wives, he started it from me saying: I am going to mention to you a matter which you should not (decide) in haste until you have consulted your parents. She said that he already knew that my parents would never allow me to seek separation from him She said: Then he said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: Prophet, say to thy wives: If you desire this world's life and its adornment, then come, I will give you a provision and allow you to depart a goodly departing; and if you desire Allah and His Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter, then Allah has prepared for the doers of good among you a great reward She is reported to have said: About what should I consult my parents, for I desire Allah and His Messenger and the abode of the Hereafter? She ('A'isha) said: Then all the wives of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did as I had done.
Sahih Muslim 1475.
Allah raised them higher because they prefer Allah and his messenger.
The wives of the prophets Allah says will have double reward.
Al-Ahzab 33:31
And whoever of you devoutly obeys Allah and His Messenger and does righteousness – We will give her her reward twice; and We have prepared for her a noble provision.
Khadijah r.a was the woman rasulullah s.a.w loved a lot and spoke about her that Ayesha r.a will feel jealous of her.
Never did I feel jealous of any woman as I was jealous of Khadija. She had died three years before he (the Holy Prophet) married me. I often heard him praise her, and his lord, the Exalted and Glorious, had commanded him to give her the glad tidings of a palace of jewels in Paradise: and whenever he slaughtered a sheep he presented (its meat) to her female companions.
Sahih Muslim 2435.
May Allah always be pleased with them and grants us spouses who will follow their path. Aameen
