Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 135 and 136

And they say, "Be Jews or Christians, then you will be guided." Say (to them, O Muhammad Peace be upon him), "Nay, (We follow) only the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham), Hanifa [Islamic Monotheism, i.e. to worship none but Allāh (Alone)], and he was not of Al-Mushrikun (those who worshipped others along with Allāh - see V. 2:105)." *COMMENTARY* Hanīf: inclined to right opinion, orthodox (in the literal meaning of the Greek words), firm in faith, sound and well-balanced, true. Perhaps the last word, True, sums up most of the other shades. The Jews, though taught Unity, went after false gods, and the Christians invented the Trinity or borrowed it from Paganism. We go back to the pure, hanīf doctrine of Abraham, to live and die in faith in the One True God.  ﷽ *Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 136:* قُولُوا آمَنَّ...

MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE QURAN AND SUNNAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 27th day of Swafar (Saturday 26th October, 2019). *_MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD IN THE  QURAN AND SUNNAH_*. BismilLaahir Rahmaanir Raheem. Brotherhood in Islam is a comprehensive concept that is based upon good character with others, treating others the way we want to be treated, and uniting together upon common values. It has three levels of degree: religion, family, and humanity. Each of these levels has a set of rights and duties that a Muslim must uphold with others. The strongest level of brotherhood is the sense of community, friendship, and common purpose in Islam for the sake of ALLAH. At this level, the believers work together towards fulfilling the goals of the religion and without living out its divine values. The believers are but brothers, so make reconciliation between your brothers and fear ALLAH that you m...

Trust that even tribulations are part of Allah’s divine plan.

The Happiest Woman in the World* *(A Treasure Chest of Reminders)* *Part 9 of 5*

﷽ *The Happiest Woman in the World* *(A Treasure Chest of Reminders)* *Part 9 of 5* *KNOWLEDGE OF THE MOST MERCIFUL TAKES AWAY GRIEF* "It is sufficient honour for women that the mother of Muhammad (Blessings and Peace be upon him) was a woman." Allāh, the Most Generous, Most Kind, gives to His slave more than he can hope for before he even asks. He appreciates small deeds and makes them grow, and He forgives and erases a great deal of mistakes. Surah Al-Rahman, Verse 29: يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ Whosoever is in the heavens and on earth begs of Him (its needs from Him). Every day He has a matter to bring forth (such as giving honour to some, disgrace to some, life to some, death to some, etc.)! He is not distracted and He listen to all; He does not get confused by being asked for so many things; He does not tire when people persist in calling upon Him. Rather, He loves them to persist in a calling upon Him ...

A Treaties On Prophet Muhammad's Biography.* *Part 63* *THE 'AQABAH FIRST PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE* As stated previously six men from Yathrib embraced Islam during the season of hajj, the eleventh year of Prophethood and promised the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) to convey his message to their tribe. In the next season of hajj, the twelfth year of Prophethood (621 A.D.) twelve men came from Yathrib and met the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him). Among them were the five men who met him in the past year and seven other men: Mu'ādh Ibnul-Hārith Ibn 'Afrāa (of the clan of An-Najjār, Al-Khazrajj tribe), Dhakwān Ibn 'Abdul-Qays (of the clan of Zuraiq, Al-Khazrajj tribe), Ubādah Ibnus-Sāmit (of the clan of Ghanm, Al-Khazrajj tribe), Yazīd Ibn Tha'alaba (the ally of the clan of Ghanm, Al-Khazrajj tribe), Al-'Abbas Ibn Ubādah Ibn Nadlah (of the clan of Sālim, Al-Khazrajj tribe), Al-Hayatham Ibn At-T...

Surah Al-Baqara, Verse 133 and 134

Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qub (Jacob)? When he said unto his sons, "What will you worship after me?" They said, "We shall worship your Ilah (God - Allah), the Ilah (God) of your fathers, Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), One Ilah (God), and to Him we submit (in Islam)." *COMMENTARY* The whole of the Children of Israel are called to witness one of their slogans, that they worshipped "the God of their fathers." The idea in their minds got narrowed down to that of a tribal God. But they are reminded that their ancestors had the principle of Islam in them, _the worship of Allāh, the One True and Universal God. The death-bed scene is descr...

PRESCRIPTION FOR PIETY

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaumul Ahad, 26th day of Swafar (Friday 25th October, 2019). *_PRESCRIPTION FOR PIETY_*. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem ALLAH (The Most Great) says in Aayah 119 of Surah Taubah: “O Believers fear ALLAH and be with those who are truthful.” To fear ALLAH means to avoid sins at all cost and to make sincere repentance and seek forgiveness from ALLAH all the time.  Along with fearing ALLAH, this Aayah also commands to be with the people who are truthful, i.e., who always speak the truth, who at heart are truthful and whose actions reflect their belief in truth. A person, who is living in an amoral, immoral or unethical environment, may ask a question: “How to build a barrier against sins and be safe from their influence.” Listen to what Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) once said before I answer this question. He (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said that a time will come when holding on to Faith will be as difficult as holding a burning coal in hand. Most pr...

Masturbation (for both men and women) is haraam (forbidden) in Islam

Praise be to Allaah. Masturbation (for both men and women) is haraam (forbidden) in Islam based on the following evidence: First from the Quraan: Imam Shafii stated that masturbation is forbidden based on the following verses from the Quraan (interpretation of the meaning): "And those who guard their chastity (i.e. private parts, from illegal sexual acts). Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, - for them, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors." 23.5-7 Here the verses are clear in forbidding all illegal sexual acts (including masturbation) except for the wives or that their right hand possess. And whoever seeks beyond that is the transgressor. "And let those who find not the financial means for marriage keep themselves chaste, until Allah enriches them of His bounty." 24.33. This verse also clearly orders whoever does not have the financial means to marry to keep hims...

O Allah, we beg You for yearning hearts that are humble and that turn to Your path. *Thought For The Day* We keep looking for the sweetness of faith in our empty prayers and disconnected Du'ās (supplications). We look for it in mosques and even in seclusion. Little do we realize that the sweetness of faith can only be experienced when our hearts fall in love with Allāh and His Messenger (peace be upon him), and this can only be achieved through reading and understanding the message of Allah, the Qur’an

Scholars differ over the time of this event as follows: 1. At-Tabary said that Al-Israa was in the first year when the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) received revelation. 2. An-Nawawy and Al-Qurtuby maintained that it was in the fifth year of Prophethood. 3. It was on the 27th night of Rajab, the tenth year of Prophethood. 4. It was sixteen months before Hijra, in Ramadān of the twelfth year of Prophethood. 5. It was in Muharram of the thirteenth year of Prophethood. 6. It was in Rabi'...
