*FRIENDSHIP IN ISLAM*

*Importance of good companionship,*

Allah ﷻ says about Qiyamah,

_Close friends will be enemies to one another on that Day, except the righteous,_

[43:67]

Meaning, every friendship that exists for a purpose other than for the sake of Allahﷻ will turn to enmity on the Day of Resurrection, except for that which is for the sake of Allah ﷻ, which will last forever.

_

The good friends will intercede for their friends, who they see are being punished!

Isn't this reason enough to surround yourself with the good company, company of the righteous?

_

The regret of those who didn't, they will cry out!

_And nobody has misguided us except the criminals,_

_now we have no intercessors,_

_Nor a close friend._

[26:99-101]

Meaning, they'll be stuck in punishment regretful and woeful that they have no righteous friend, no good friend that could have taken them out of Jahannam!

Why?

They took the people who were bad influences, who didn't believe in Allah ﷻ, who committed sins openly and invited towards it as close friends!

_

Another cry of regret from these people is mentioned in Surah Furqan,

_Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as an intimate friend!_

_He indeed led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me_

[25:28]

_

So look at your close circles, what types of discussions occur,

What types of actions occur,

Do they gather with the intention to please Allah ﷻ, or do they act and displease Him?

_

Abu Musa (رضي الله عنه) reported: The Prophet ﷺ said: _“Verily, the parable of good company and a bad company is only that of a seller of musk and a blacksmith. The seller of musk will give you some perfume, you will buy some, or you will notice a good smell. As for the blacksmith, he will burn your clothes or you will notice a bad smell.”_

[Sahih al-Bukhari 1995, Sahih Muslim 2628]

_

You will be enemies, blaming each other for the collective actions you did and you will collectively be punished!

Except those whom Allah ﷻ has mercy on and forgives!

_

So repent to Allah ﷻ constantly and reflect!

_

May Allah ﷻ grant us righteous friends and grant us goodness both in this life and the hereafter.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...
