THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Ath-thalaatha, 15th day of Shawwaal (Tuesday 18th June, 2019).
*_THE IMPORTANCE of OBEDIENCE to OUR PARENTS_*. BismilLahir Rahmaanir Raheem.
The respect we ought to pay our parents has been time and time again emphasized in the Holy Qur'an. In one of the verses it is stated:
"Thy Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and you be kind to your parents." (Qur'an 17:23).
Let's Be grateful with our parents. It is one of the cardinal principles of good manners and the acknowledgement of debt to them. One should be grateful to the parents for all the kindness, extraordinary love, and unparalleled sacrifices they under went in bringing us up. The Almighty has decreed that when we render thanks to Him, we should express gratitude to our parents as well.
Allah says:
"And Allah has enjoined on man (To be good) to his parents: In travail upon travail did his mother bear him. And in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command), 'Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to Me is (thy final) Goal.'" (Qur'an 31:14).
*_Please note that our respect and care for our parents is a command from ALLAH regardless of how careless there were to us_*.
Rabbana la tuzigh quluubanaba-ada ith hadaytana wahab lana min ladunkarahmatan innaka anta alwahhab
*_Oh Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate from the truth after You have guided us, and bestow upon us mercy from Your grace. Verily You are the Giver of bounties without measure. (3:8)_*. Aameen.
