SEEKING KNOWLEDGE AND ACTING ON IT

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-ithnayn, 23rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Monday, 15th September, 2025. *_SEEKING KNOWLEDGE AND ACTING ON IT_*. BismilLah. One of the best teachers of Islam, Ibn Al-Qayyim, may ALLAH have mercy on him, writes in one of his books _Miftah Dar As-Sa’adah_: that; Knowledge has six levels: First, asking good questions. Second, good practice of silence and listening. Third, acquiring good understanding. Fourth, memorization. Fifth, teaching. And sixth, and this is the fruit of all knowledge, to act upon it and be careful of its limits. Among people are those deprived of knowledge due to their lack of asking good questions, whether by not asking at all or by asking about unimportant matters. And among people are those deprived of knowledge due to their poor ability to remain silent. For them, speaking and debating issues are more beloved and preferred over being quiet. This is a hidden defect in many seekers of knowledge that prevents them from much learn...

ARE WE SAVING FOR OUR HOME IN PARADISE OR JUST SPENDING OUR MONEY ON EARTH?

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 22nd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Sunday, 14th September, 2025. *_ARE WE SAVING FOR OUR HOME IN PARADISE OR JUST SPENDING OUR MONEY ON EARTH?_*. BismilLah.  In Qur'an 63:9-10 ALLAH says; O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from the remembrance of ALLAH. And whoever does that – then those are the losers. And spend [in the way of ALLAH] from what I (ALLAH) have provided you before death approaches one of you and he says, "My Lord, if only You would delay me for a brief term so I would give charity and be of the righteous."  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (Sallalahu alaihi wasallam) said, "Everyday two angels come down from heaven and one of them says, 'O ALLAH! Compensate every person who spends in Your Cause,' and the other (angel) says, 'O ALLAH! Destroy every miser."' [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 2/1442 (O.P.522)]. SUBHAAALLAH.  From the above and man...

The story of imam shafi'

The story of imam shafi' Alhamdulillah, one great scholar of Islam and among the four madhhazib we have was the shafi' madhhab. Imam Shafi' was born in Gaza, Palestine. His real name was Muhammad ibn Iddriss. His father died before he was born and was left upon the care of his mother. Due to hardship in Gaza, his mother decided to move to Makkah where his families were. It was believed he was from the Banu Mutalib and among the Hashmites. In Makkah, he used to sell clothes in market but due to his quench for knowledge. he used to sit closer to a madrasa and listen to whatever the imam teaches the students. As days passed by, One-day the shaykh did not attend the madrasa and they needed someone to teach for them Imam Shafi' at young age came and said he would be able to assist them. He was given a platform and he taught them that they were amazed of his knowledge. The next day, the Shaykh was pleased with the young boy's knowledge and decided to make him to partake i...

Grandpa's Story

*Grandpa's Story* ------------------ بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) reported, on the authority of his father, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “What an excellent man Abdullah is! If only he could be performing optional prayers at night.” Salim said that after this, (his father) Abdullah slept very little at night. 📚 Al-Bukhari and Muslim *Lessons from the above Hadith:* This Hadith points out the excellence of Abdullah bin Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) as well as the merits of establishing Tahajjud. It also tells us that it is permissible to praise someone in his presence if one is sure that he will not become proud due to that praise. Another aspect of this Hadith is that it's permissible to use someone else's positive lifestyles to motivate others. This reminds me, This happened 8years ago.. One of my childhood friends whose father is also a friend to my father, who was critically sick a...

Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 8 ---]]

*Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 8 ---]] ------------------ *Stepchildren Issues* بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم It is not easy to rear children. Yes. Each child is different and requires thoughtful work and planning for the best way to teach and discipline. It may be hard when you are married to your children’s parent. *It can be many times harder* when you are not married to your child’s parent…and you are married to someone else! But, A child is a child, irrespective of whether you are the biological parent or a stepparent. The good news is that, it's even possible that people's children will be the ones Allah (swt) may use to grant you mercy & favors in this world and the next. So, if you have opportunity of helping people's children *(either by marrying a divorced Woman or a widow)*, pls do. Now, *Problems Caused by Stepchildren No 2:* Bonding as One Unit If dad always handles his biological child’s activities and mom handles her own child’s schedule, you may as well still b...

RULINGS ON OFFERING SALAT (The Prayer) WHEN THE FOOD IS READY or WHEN ONE IS IN DESPERATE NEED TO VISIT THE TOILET

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm As-sabt, 21st day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Saturday, 13th September, 2025. *_RULINGS ON OFFERING SALAT (The Prayer) WHEN THE FOOD IS READY or WHEN ONE IS IN DESPERATE NEED TO VISIT THE TOILET_*. BismilLahir. Our mother Aishah (May ALLAH be pleased with her) said: I heard the Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam saying, "No Salat (prayer) should be performed when the food has been served, nor should it be performed when a person requires relieving himself. Imam Muslim. We learn from this Hadith that one should not offer Salat when he is hungry and the food has been served or has to answer the call of nature. The reason behind is that if one offers Salat in that condition, he will not be able to do it with full concentration.  Similarly, if one has to answer the call of nature, he should first do so and then offer Salat. This doesn't mean that we sit down with hunger when time is approaching for salaat whiles food is available till when its...

SALAAT ALAN NABI

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul Jumuat, 20th day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Friday, 12th September, 2025. *_SALAAT ALAN NABI_* Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam. BismilLahir Rahmanir Raheem.    The status which has been given to our beloved Prophet Muhammed (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) among all Prophets and Messengers is UNIQUE. He sallallahu  alaihi wasallam is superior most and excels all among ALLAH'S creation, Last in the chain of Prophets, being the greatest benefactor of humanity, in him (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) culminates the perfection of all earlier Messages. We are indebted to him more than anyone else aside from ALLAH Azzawajal as ALLAH Azzawajal guided us through him sallallahu alaihi wasallam and the only way to express our gratitude to him is to submit supplication to ALLAH Azzawajal for him as ALLAH mentioned it in the Qur'an so that we can gain lots of blessings for ourselves. There is no better day than today Friday to send lots of salutations seeking bl...

Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 7 ---]]

*Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 7 ---]] ------------------ *Stepchildren Issues* بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم As Muslims, we learned from our beloved Prophet - Muhammad (pbuh) to invest heavily on children's upbringing so that they become righteous and God-fearing, so that even after our demise, we will continue to receive rewards until the day of judgement. Remember, A child is a child, irrespective of whether you are the biological parent or a stepparent. Besides, it's possible that people's children Allah (swt) may use to grant you mercy & favors in this world and the next. Yes. We have seen parents who did not  enjoy their own biological children like they enjoyed Stepchildren they took care of.. So, if you have opportunity of helping people's children *(either by marrying a divorced Woman or a widow)*, pls do. Now, *Problems Caused by Stepchildren:* *Number 1:* Disciplining as a Step-Parent A new stepparent may perceive that the biological parent is favoring his or he...

the importance of dying upon laa ilaha illa Allah,

the importance of dying upon laa ilaha illa Allah, As reported in hadith, Narrated Al-Musaiyab: When Abu Talib was in his death bed, the Prophet (ﷺ) went to him while Abu Jahl was sitting besidehim. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "O my uncle! Say: None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, an expression I will defend your case with, before Allah." Abu Jahl and `Abdullah bin Umaiya said, "O Abu Talib! Will you leave the religion of `Abdul Muttalib?" So they kept on saying this to him so that the last statement he said to them (before he died) was: "I am on the religion of `Abdul Muttalib." Then the Prophet said, " I will keep on asking for Allah's Forgiveness for you unless I am forbidden to do so." Then the following Verse was revealed:-- "It is not fitting for the Prophet (ﷺ) and the believers to ask Allah's Forgiveness for the pagans, even if they were their near relatives, after it has become clear to them that they are the dweller...

Missed Opportunity

*Missed Opportunity* ----------------- بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم A "missed opportunity" refers to a situation where someone fails to take advantage of a chance or favorable circumstance that could have led to a positive outcome or benefit. It suggests that someone didn't seize the moment or make the most of an opportunity that was available to them. The truth of the matter is, The shaytan always SPOILED our obligatory prayers, and yet told us not to wake up for Tahajjud, that, "Tahajjud" is not compulsory. My People! We should take advantage of "golden opportunity" available for us by sacrificing at least 10-15 minutes EVERY BLESSED NIGHT to establish 2 rakaat, because *nothing that has passed of your life is in your favor except the times you spent in obedience to Allah*. Perhaps more days may pass you by, but when death comes it will be as if you were only born that minute. At that time, everything of one’s past life will mean nothing to him or her. My...

QURAN, THE LIVE MIRACLE FOR MANKIND AND JINNKIND

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 19th day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Thursday, 11th September, 2025. *_QURAN, THE LIVE MIRACLE FOR MANKIND AND JINNKIND_*. BismilLah.  How do we explain to our non Muslim colleagues when they ask us to explain to them all about the Quran?.  Basically, we can reliably say that the Quran is the direct SPEECH of the CREATOR ALLAH (The Mighty GOD in English), a Final Testament or Revelation for Humankind. The Quran, the last revealed words of GOD, is the primary source of every Muslim’s faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, transactions, law, etc., but its basic theme is the relationship between HIM, the Creator and HIS creatures.  At the same time, it provides guidelines and detailed teachings for a just society, proper human conduct, and an equitable economic system. Note that the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) in Arabic ONLY....

If Allah Finds Goodness in Your Heart

If Allah Finds Goodness in Your Heart Allah ﷻ says in Surah Al-Anfal (8:70):  *"If Allah finds goodness in your hearts, He will give you better than what has been taken from you, and forgive you."* This verse is a powerful message of *hope*. You may have lost something—wealth, time, people, or peace—but if your heart carries sincerity, patience, and trust in Allah, *He will replace your loss with better*, and even more: *He will forgive you.* Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said: *"The loss that brings you back to Allah is better than the gain that makes you forget Him."* Hasan al-Basri رحمه الله said: *"Do not grieve over what was taken from you. If it was good for you, it would have remained. And if it left, it’s because Allah saved you from it."* Your role is to fix your heart. Fill it with sincerity, remembrance, humility, and du’ā. Leave the outcome to Ar-Rahmān — He sees what was taken, and He alone can return *better*. *So don’t despair. Allah sees the goo...

ISLAMIC BABY NAMING CEREMONY

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm Arba'a, 18th day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Wednesday, 10th September, 2025. *_ISLAMIC BABY NAMING CEREMONY_*. BismilLah.  In all communities around the world the birth of a child is considered a blessing and ceremonies are held to celebrate this event. Besides being a natural expression of joy, it also serves a special purpose, that is, making it known in a suitable and dignified manner, that the father has accepted the child as his own and that there is no doubt or suspicion concerning this matter. It shuts the door to any mischief that could arise in the future. It is a confirmed sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam to slaughter on the 7th day or 14th, 21st etc if the father can afford.  There is no particular ceremony in Islam where people gather to celebrate the naming of the newborn child. If by celebrating we mean inviting a group of Muslims or relatives to gather on the day when you perform the Aqeeqah(The sacrificing, the n...

Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 6 ---]] ------------------ *Stepchildren Issues

*Remarrying Issue* [[--- Part 6 ---]] ------------------ *Stepchildren Issues* بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Marrying someone with children from a previous relationship can take a toll on your new marriage. Yes. When someone that you care about criticizes your child or their successes, good feelings erode and, over time, can erode good feelings about each other and about the marriage. But, As Muslims, we learned from our beloved Prophet - Muhammad (pbuh) to invest heavily on children's upbringing so that they become righteous and God-fearing, so that even after our demise, we will continue to receive rewards until the day of judgement. Remember, A child is a child, irrespective of whether you are the biological parent or a stepparent. Yes. The most important thing is - *"Are you the one whose efforts, pockets and time nurse the child to become righteous?"* -  if yes, then Maa sha Allah Alhamdulillah! THE EXCELLENCE OF STUDYING AND RECITING THE QUR'AN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm Athalaatha, 17th day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 9th September, 2025. *_THE EXCELLENCE OF STUDYING AND RECITING THE QUR'AN_*. BismilLah.  Our beloved Messenger of ALLAH sallallahu alaihi wasallam saying, "Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection. By Imam Muslim. This Hadith tells the excellence of reciting the Qur'an and acting upon its injunctions. Intercession (in this Hadith) means that the Qur'an will be endowed with the power of speech by ALLAH Azzawajal and it will request ALLAH Azzawajal to forgive the sins of its reciters who acted upon its teachings. ALLAH Azzawajal will accept the request of the Qur'an, as signified in other Ahadith. An-Nawwas bin Sam`an (May ALLAH be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of ALLAH (PBUH) saying, "The Qur'an and its people who applied it, will be brought on the Day of Resurrection preceded with Surat Al-Baqar...

Holding firmly to Qur'an and Sunnah.

Holding firmly to Qur'an and Sunnah. Alhamdulillah, A believer should always try to perform his ibadah(worship) based upon the Qur'an and Sunnah. As Allah says in Qur'an, An-Nisa' 4:59 O you who have believed, obey Allāh and obey the Messenger and those in authority among you. And if you disagree over anything, refer it to Allāh and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allāh and the Last Day. That is the best [way] and best in result. Allah says, Al-Anfal 8:24 O you who have believed, respond to Allāh and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allāh intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered. Allah says, Aal-e-Imran 3:31 Say, [O Muḥammad], "If you should love Allāh, then follow me, [so] Allāh will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful." An-Nisa' 4:64 And We did not send any messenger except to be obeyed by permission of Allāh. And if, when they wr...

the story of ikhlas in our deeds

the story of ikhlas in our deeds Alhamdulillah,Let's remind ourselves of this beautiful hadith of the messenger of Allah PBUH on Ikhlas. As reported from hadith, Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "While a man was walking on his way he became extremely thirsty. He found a well, he went down into it to drink water. Upon leaving it, he saw a dog which was panting out of thirst. His tongue was lolling out and he was eating moist earth from extreme thirst. The man thought to himself: 'This dog is extremely thirsty as I was.' So he descended into the well, filled up his leather sock with water, and holding it in his teeth, climbed up and quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah appreciated his action and forgave his sins". The Companions asked: "Shall we be rewarded for showing kindness to the animals also?" He (ﷺ) said, "A reward is given in connection with every living creature". [Al-Bukhari and Musli...

Let's remind ourselves of the beautiful story of ikhlas

Let's remind ourselves of the beautiful story of ikhlas  Alhamdulillah, Ikhlas means sincerity and let's reflect upon this story to know the effects of sincerity in our deeds. Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "Three men from among those who were before you, set out together till they reached a cave at nightand entered it. A big rock rolled down the mountain and closed the mouth of the cave. They said (to each other), Nothing could save you from this rock but to invoke Allah by giving reference to the righteous deed which you have done (for Allah's sake only).' So, one of them said, 'O Allah! I had old parents and I never provided my family (wife, children etc.) with milk before them. One day, by chance I was delayed, and I came late (at night) while they had slept. I milked the sheep for them and took the milk to them, but I found them sleeping. I disliked to provide my family with the milk before them. I waited for them ...

The greatness of the Arsh of Allah Subhana wa ta'Ala

The greatness of the Arsh of Allah Subhana wa ta'Ala  Alhamdulillah, As we know from the Qur'an and hadith, Allah s.w.t has a throne  Allah says, Ṭā Hā 20:5 ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established.[1] Allah s.w.t has a throne and the throne is above the water  As reported in hadith, Narrated Waki' bin Hu'dus from his uncle Abu Razin who said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Where was our Lord before He created His creation?' He said: 'He was (above) the clouds - no air was under him, no air was above him, and He created His Throne upon the water.'"' Vol. 5, Book 44, Hadith 3109.. Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle, offer prayer perfectly and fasts the month of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's Cause or remains in the land where he is born." The people said, ...

The story of Amaanah

The story of Amaanah. As reported from hadith, Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "A man bought a piece of land from another man, and the buyer found an earthenware jar filled with gold inthe land. The buyer said to the seller. 'Take your gold, as I have bought only the land from you, but I have not bought the gold from you.' The (former) owner of the land said, "I have sold you the land with everything in it.' So both of them took their case before a man who asked, 'Do you have children?' One of them said, "I have a boy.' The other said, "I have a girl.' The man said, 'Marry the girl to the boy and spend the money on both of them and give the rest of it in charity.'" Sahih al-Bukhari 3472. From this hadith, we should know of how Amaanah is and it's greatness when we are entrusted with it. These two men each feared to accepr the gold because of their Amanah they had for eachother . May Allah make us am...

OUR AQEEDAH AS MUSLIMS

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawmul ahad, 15th day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Sunday, 7th September, 2025. *_OUR AQEEDAH AS MUSLIMS_*. *Bismillaah* Aqeedah refers to those matters which are believed in, with certainty and conviction, in one’s heart and soul. They are not tainted with any doubt or uncertainty. The Arabic word ‘aqeedah stems from the root ‘aqada, which conveys meanings of certainty, affirmation, confirmation, etc. In Islam, ‘aqeedah is a matter of knowledge. The Muslim must believe in their heart and have faith and conviction, with no doubts or misgivings, because ALLAH Azzawajal has told us about ‘aqeedah in HIS Book and via HIS Revelations to HIS Messenger (peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon him).  The principles of ‘aqeedah are those which ALLAH Azzawajal has commanded us to believe in, as mentioned in the aayah  "The Messenger believes in what has been sent down to him from HIS Lord, and so do the believers. Each one believes in ALLAH, HIS Angels, HIS Books...
