HIS DREAM CAME TRUE

FAJR REMINDER: HIS DREAM CAME TRUE

By: Umm Affan

Sha‘bān 2, 1447 (21-January-2026)

Thus, Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salām) devised plans to reunite his family. Allāh informs us that he (‘Alayhi Salām) said to his brothers:

اذْهَبُوا بِقَمِيصِي هَٰذَا فَأَلْقُوهُ عَلَىٰ وَجْهِ أَبِي يَأْتِ بَصِيرًا وَأْتُونِي بِأَهْلِكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

“Go with this shirt of mine and cast it over the face of my father; he will become clear-sighted, and bring me your family all together.”

[Sūrah Yūsuf (12) Verse 93]

The brothers then left for home. With his fatherly love, Prophet Ya’qūb (‘Alayhi Salām) began to sense the fragrance of his son, Yūsuf, though the family members attributed it to his old age. Upon arriving home, the brothers followed the instructions and cast the shirt over their father’s face, restoring his sight. Allāh informs us that their father exclaimed:

أَلَمْ أَقُل لَّكُمْ إِنِّي أَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

“…Did I not say to you, ‘I know from Allāh that which you know not.’”

[Sūrah Yūsuf (12) Verse 96]

Feeling remorseful, the brothers requested their father to seek Allāh’s Forgiveness for them. Just like Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salām), he harbored no anger or resentment towards them for their past actions and promised to pray for their forgiveness. They then all set off for Egypt.

When Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salām)’s family arrived in Egypt, he went out to greet his parents with honor, accompanied by many people. Allāh says:

“And he raised his parents to the throne and they fell down before him prostrate. And he said: ‘O my father! This is the interpretation of my dream aforetime! My Lord has made it come true! He was indeed good to me when he took me out of the prison and brought you (all here) out of the Bedouin life, and Shayṭān (Satan) had sown enmity between me and my brothers. Certainly, my Lord is the Most Courteous and Kind unto whom He will. Truly He! Only He is the Al-Knowing, the All-Wise.’”

[Sūrah Yūsuf (12) Verse 100]

His prayers were answered; favored by Allāh, he was reunited with his parents and brothers, and Allāh granted him Prophethood and kingship.

Then, Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salām) beautifully invoked Allāh. Allah informs us that he said:

رَبِّ قَدْ آتَيْتَنِي مِنَ الْمُلْكِ وَعَلَّمْتَنِي مِن تَأْوِيلِ الْأَحَادِيثِ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ

“My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me the sovereignty, and taught me the interpretation of dreams; The (only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Walī (Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian, etc.) in this world and in the Hereafter, cause me to die as a Muslim (the one submitting to Your Will), and join me with the righteous.”

[Sūrah Yūsuf (12) Verse 101]

Now, the narrative has come to an end. This is the story of Prophet Yūsuf (‘Alayhi Salam) which Allāh narrates to Prophet Muḥammad (ﷺ) and his Ummah.

The central theme of the story is the importance of patience in the face of difficulty and grief. Both Prophet Yūsuf and his father (‘Alayhima Salām) encountered significant trials, yet, through patience, they triumphed over their challenges. Is there any gain without experiencing pain?

I beseech Allāh to grant His special Mercy upon Prophet Yūsuf and his esteemed ancestors (Ibrāhīm, Ishaque, and Ya’qūb).

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
