 *Advice for Those who are Afflicted with Doubts - Sheikh Ibn Baz*

 يقول: أحافظ على الصلاة والصوم وجميع واجبات الإسلام، ولكن يداخلني الشك أحيانًا، فماذا أفعل كي أطرد هذا الشك، وهل هذا الشك يخرج المسلم إلى الكفر، وهل علي إثم في ذلك؟ أفيدونا جزاكم الله خيرًا. 

Question: He says, I preserve my Salah, fasting, and all the obligations of Islām, but sometimes I fall into doubt.

So, what should I do to push away this doubt? And does this doubt exit a Muslim into kufr? Am I sinful for that? Benefit us, may Allah reward you with good.

الجواب: إذا كان الشك فيما يتعلق بالله والدار الآخرة، أو الجنة والنار ونحو ذلك؛ فهذا كله من الشيطان،

Answer: If the doubt is regarding Allah, the abode of the Hereafter, Jannah, Hell-Fire or other similar things, then all of this is from the Shaytān (devil).

والرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم لما سأله الصحابة عن هذا الذي يعرض لهم قال: قولوا: آمنت بالله ورسله قال: وليستعيذ بالله ولينته فقد وقع هذا في الصحابة، 

When the companions asked the Messenger ﷺ about that which occurred to them he said: "Say, I believe in Allah and His Messengers," he said: "Seek refuge in Allah and stop it."

So, this has happened to the companions.

وسألوا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قالوا: يقع لأحدنا ما لأن يخر من السماء أحب إليه من أن يتكلم به، 

They asked the Prophet ﷺ: It occurs to the one of us that which falling from the sky is more beloved to him than to speak about it.

فقال: تلك الوسوسة، ذاك صريح الإيمان لأن إنكار هذا الوسواس، واستعظامه من صريح الإيمان، ومن قوة الإيمان.

So, he ﷺ said: "That is waswasah, that is clear Imān"; because repelling this waswās and considering it to be grave is from clear Imān and from the strength of Imān.

فالمؤمن إذا رأى مثل هذه الوساوس؛ أنكرها بإيمانه، وأنكرها بما أعطاه الله من البصيرة؛ 

So, when a mu'min (believer) finds something similar to these wasāwis, he repels them by his Imān, and by what Allah has granted him of insight.

لأنه يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر، فيقول حينئذٍ: آمنت بالله ورسله، أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم، 

That's because he believes in Allah and the Last Day, so he says therein: I believe in Allah and His Messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytān.

ولا يضره ذلك، ولا يقدح في إيمانه، إذا جاهده بها بما قاله الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم آمنت بالله ورسله، أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم 

This doesn't harm him or dispraises his Imān, If he strives against it with what the Messenger ﷺ has said, "I believe in Allah and His Messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan."
