TAFSEER OF SUURATUL QAARIAH (Qur’an 101), WITH CONTEXT, COMMENTARY, MEANINGS, and PRACTICAL LESSONS WE CAN APPLY IN OUR DAILY LIFE

 DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Arba'a, 2nd day of Sha’abaan, 1447AH, Wednesday, 21st January, 2026. *_TAFSEER OF SUURATUL QAARIAH (Qur’an 101), WITH CONTEXT, COMMENTARY, MEANINGS, and PRACTICAL LESSONS WE CAN APPLY IN OUR DAILY LIFE_*. BismilLah. 

This suurah is about the reality of the Day of Judgment, the weighing of deeds, and the final destination of humanity. 

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

I begin in the of ALLAH, The Most Gracious, The most Merciful. 

Verses 1–3

ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝ وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلْقَارِعَةُ ۝

The Striking Calamity! What is the Striking Calamity? And what can make you know what the Striking Calamity is?

📌 Meaning & Commentary:

“Al-Qāri‘ah” literally means something that strikes suddenly and violently, shaking hearts.

The repetition is a Qur’anic technique to magnify fear and seriousness. ALLAH Azzawajal draws attention to the overwhelming terror of the Day of Judgment beyond human imagination.

Verse 4

يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ

On that Day, people will be like scattered moths.

📌 Meaning & Commentary:

People will move in panic and confusion, like moths rushing without direction. Status, wealth, and power will mean nothing, everyone is helpless.

Verse 5

وَتَكُونُ ٱلْجِبَالُ كَٱلْعِهْنِ ٱلْمَنفُوشِ

And the mountains will be like fluffed-up wool.

📌 Meaning & Commentary:

Mountains symbolize stability; their destruction shows the collapse of everything we rely on. Even the strongest creations of ALLAH will be reduced to nothing by HIS command. ALLAHU AKBAR.
