*Together Forever*
[[-- Episode 3 --]]------------------
بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
Before they married, Amina and Hamza dreamed of a perfect love. They believed that once they were husband and wife, every lonely feeling would vanish. Hamza would be her perfect comfort, and she would be his happy place.
But marriage did not erase their old selves. Hamza still worried about work too much. Amina still got quiet when she was sad. They brought their old habits into their new home. Slowly, life became about bills, cleaning, and long tired silences.
Then, their beautiful daughter arrived. Now they were “Mum” and “Dad.” Everyone called them that, even each other sometimes. They forgot they were still “Amina” and “Hamza,” the sweethearts who once talked all night.
Amina remembered how Hamza used to say “I love you” every single day. Now, months would pass without hearing it. She told herself, “It’s okay. We feel the love. We are secure.” But her heart felt a quiet hunger.
One night, after putting their daughter to bed, Amina felt alone. She thought about the verse from the Quran:
وَمِنْ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَٰجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةًۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
“And of His signs is that He has created spouses for yourselves from your own selves so you might take comfort in them and He has created love and mercy among both of you. In this there is evidence (of the truth) for the people who (carefully) think.” 📚(Surah 30, Verse 21).
But where has the mercy gone to since we got married? She asked herself?
The next morning, Hamza was rushing for work. Something in Amina’s heart pushed her. She walked over, hugged him tightly, and said, “I love you, Hamza.”
He stopped. He looked surprised, then his face softened. He hugged her back and whispered, “I love you too, Amina. I really do.”
That small moment changed the day. Later, Hamza sent a text: “Thinking of you.” It was just three words, but it felt like sunshine to Amina.
Amina realized something big.
Love is not just a feeling you wait for. It is a choice you make, even when you don’t fully feel it. You choose to speak, to hug, to act like the sweethearts you once were.
They started trying. A kiss before leaving. A call just to say hello. Saying “I love you” before sleep, even in a tired whisper.
It wasn’t magic overnight. But slowly, the warmth returned. The love didn’t go back to how it was when they were dating—it grew into something deeper. A chosen love. A merciful love.
My People,
The truth is, every heart is pleased to hear “I love you.” Words matter.
So,
How your marriage feels today is not how it will always feel. Love changes. But if you both hold on tightly and choose each other, you can grow closer than ever before. Start with three simple words: I love you. Say them, and watch the mercy begin to grow again.
May Allah (swt) protect your marriage, fill your home with patience and true love, and make your union a means of entering Jannah. Ameen.
