Marriage is beautiful, but it can be hard. Many couples feel love growing weaker after marriage. This is not one big problem. It is many small things that happen slowly.

First, bad communication and poor choices.
Husbands and wives often stop talking deeply. They make choices alone, not together. This puts them on different pages. They feel alone, even when they are together.

Marriage is a journey of learning. Yes. You must keep studying your husband or wife. Learn what makes them happy or sad. Learn how to help them. As you learn, you see more good in them. You also learn about yourself by how they love you back.

*Understanding is the key.*

Try very hard to understand your spouse's heart. When you both feel understood, you feel safe. You can solve problems and heal pain. This is how close, deep love grows.

But there is a bigger reason: Pride.

We all have pride. Yes. We want to be "right." We hate to say "I was wrong." We keep score: "You did this, so I did that." This is a game that kills love.

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said: *"None shall enter the Fire (of Hell) who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of Iman and none shall enter Paradise who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride"*. 📚(Sahih Muslim Book 001, Number 0165)

My People,

Most of us are guilty of this one from time to time. Remember, a tiny bit of pride can keep us from good. We are not in a fight with our spouse. We are on the same team. We must choose to be humble. We must admit our faults.

*How can we remove pride?*

Pray together. Yes. One of the best ways is to pray to Allah (swt) as a couple. It does not need to be long. Find a time. Sit together. Stretch your hands. Talk to Allah.

When you pray together, it is hard to stay angry. Allah (swt) will softens your hearts for each other. He will helps you see your spouse with loving eyes again. He will gives you wisdom to be on the same page.

My People,

Your marriage is a blessing not a mistake. Yes. Protect it. Choose to talk, to understand, to be humble, and to pray together. May Allah (swt) keep your love strong and growing.
