*Pick Your Calls*
[[--Episode 4--]]------------------
بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
In the time of Abu Bakr (r.a), in a small area of Madeenah, there lived a blind elderly woman who had no one to help her and attend to her needs.
When Umar ibn Al Khattab (r.a) came to know of this, he became very uneasy and decided to take it upon himself to attend to her need.
The next day Umar (r.a) went in secrecy, but when he reached, he was surprised to find someone had already been and had l already attended to the needs of this blind woman.
When this happened for a few days, Umar (r.a) became very frustrated at someone surpassing him in this golden opportunity to serve a person in need.
He was curious too and so hid in one corner the next day. Umar (r.a) did not have to wait long as soon a man entered. When Umar (r.a) looked closely, it was non-other than the Caliph of the time, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (r.a).
My People,
Ramadan is coming. A month of peace, Du'a, and getting close to Allah (swt).
But many of us just wait for it to come. We jump into it with no plan. And when it ends, we jump out feeling the same. We got tired and hungry, but our hearts did not change. We got zero benefits.
This year, let that NOT be you.
Open Your Heart Before You Open Your Fast.
Yes!
Only Allah (swt) knows how many Muslims will break their fast this Ramadan with an empty stomach. While we break our fast, a brother or sister out there will have nothing.
This is a call to action.
Despite our own problems, we must race to do good even before the commencement of this year Ramadan. We must be more kind. More giving. Especially to the needy.
Why? Because giving is the secret key to preparing your heart for this year Ramadan.
My People,
You don't prepare by just looking at the calendar. Yes. You prepare by making your heart soft. And nothing makes a heart soft like giving from what you love most.
My People,
You do not need to be a millionaire to help orphans and widows.
You just need a heart that feels for others.
That plate of food you paid for someone? That small money you share despite your own personal financial demands? That is you building your Ramadan Training Camp.
When you give before Ramadan, you tell Allah: "My heart is ready. Welcome, O blessed month!"
