*AR-RAHĪQ AL-MAKHTOUM (The Pure Nectar). A Treaties On Prophet Muhammad's Biography.*

*Part 66*

*IN THE HOUSE OF CONFERENCE (QURAISH'S PARLIAMENT)*

Polytheists knew that the Prophet's Companions immigrated to Madinah and took with them their women, children and property to Al-Aws and Al-Khazrajj. They became so depressed and perturbed in a matchless way. A real and considerable danger that would menace their heathen and economic entity began to loom large for the following reasons:

1. The Prophet's charisma, perfect leadership and wisdom.

2. The firm determination, uprightness and self-sacrifice of his followers.

3. The might of Al-Aws and Al-Khazrajj.

4. There were wise men among the two tribes who inclined to peace, reconciliation and setting hostilities aside, as they suffered from civil wars for a long time.

5. Madinah was characterised with a strategic location with respect to the commercial destination that passed the coast of the Red Sea, from Yemen to Ash-Shām.

Meccans were conducting transactions worth a quarter of million golden dinars annually (excluding At-Tā'if and other areas). Therefore, commerce depended basically on the stable and safe routes.

Polytheists felt the aggravating danger that threatened their entity. So they looked for the most effective way to eliminate such a danger that was represented in Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and Peace be upon him), the banner of Islamic calling.

On Thursday morning, the 26th of Safar, the fourteenth year of Prophethood (September 12, 622 A.D.) the parliament of Mecca convened the most crucial meeting at the House of Conference. All the representatives of Quraishite tribes attended this meeting to consider a speedy and decisive plan to put an end to the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) and eliminate the calling of Islam altogether. As for the prominent Quraishites who attended this meeting, they were as follows:

1. Abu Jahl Hishām to act for Banu Makhzūm.

2, 3,4. Jubair Ibn mut'im, Tu'aima Ibn 'Adeyy and al-Hārith Ibn 'Amir to act on behalf of Banu Nawfal Ibn 'Abdu Manāf.

5, 6, 7. Shaibah, 'Utba, the two sons of Rabī'ah, and Sufyān Ibn Harb to deputise for Banu 'Abd Shams Ibn 'Abdu Manāf.

8. An-Nadr Ibnul-Hārith to act for Banu 'Abd Ad-Dār.

9, 10, 11. Abul-Bukhtury Ibn Hishām, Zam'ah Ibnul-Aswad and Hakim Ibn Hizām to act for Banu Asad Ibn'Abdul-'Uzzā.

12, 13. Nubaih and Munabbih, the two sons of al-Hajjāj to act on behalf of Banu Sahm.

14. Umayya Ibn Khalaff to act for Banu Jumah.

When they came to the House of Conference as they agreed, Iblīs (the Satan) intercepted them assuming the form of an old respectable man with a thick garment and stood at the door. They wondered: "Who is that old man?" He replied: "I am from Najd. I heard of your meeting and I want to attend it to see what you will say. I can give you good advice and express an opinion." They said: "Of course. Come in.

THE PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE AND REACHING A UNANIMOUS DECISION TO ASSASSINATE THE PROPHET (Blessings and Peace be upon him)

After all the representatives attended, all proposals and solutions were presented. Debate lasted for a long time. Abul-Aswad said: "We must banish him from your country and we should not concern ourselves with where he goes or lives. In doing so, we will heal the rifts and restore our rapport." The old man of Najd said: "This is not my point of view. Don't you note his charming words, attractive expressions and his influence over men's hearts? I swear that if you do so, you can't ensure that he would settle at the land of other Arabs and bring them with him to combat you and do what he wills. Put forward another suggestion."

Abul-Bukhtury said: "Apprehend and put him behind bars in fetters. Then close the door before him. Then wait till that which befell his peer poets has happened to him. Thus he will die in the same way as theirs."

The old man of Najd said: "This proposal is not appropriate either. If you detain him as you suggest, his followers will fight you relentlessly to release him. Then they will mobilise a great number of fighters and defeat you. Submission another proposal."

After rejecting the previous suggestions, Abu Jahl put another sinful proposal before the parliament by saying: "I can make another suggestion that didn't occur to you before." They asked: "And what is this proposal, Abul-Hakam?" He said: "I propose that we should select a strong highborn young man from each tribe and give each a sharp sword to kill him (Muhammad) therewith all at once. In doing so, we will eliminate him and implicate all tribes in his blood (killings). Consequently, Banu 'Abd Manāf cannot fight them all. Then, they will accept blood money that we will be bound to pay."

Thereupon the old man said: "I do agree with the proposal of this man." The parliament of Mecca reached a consensus on such a wrongful suggestion and all the representatives returned home with firm resolve to implement their decision as quickly as possible.

GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 28th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 7th May 2024). *_GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD_*. Aameen.  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being.* If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride on it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all these will be regarded as charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/2891]. To show gratitude to ALLAH for keeping your body safe and sound, you should give in charity or do charitable deeds. Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: ALLAH'S Messenger (sallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one w

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will p
