Allāhumma innī a’ūdhu bika mim munkarātil-‘akhlāqi wal-‘a’māli wal-‘ahwā’i wal-‘adwā’(i),na’ūdhu bika min sharri masta’ādha minhu nabiyyuka Muhammadun sallAllāhu ‘alyhi wa sallm(a), wa min jāris-sū’i fī dāril-muqāmati fa inna jāral-bādiyati yatahawwal(u), wa ghalabatil-‘aduww(i),wa shamātatil-‘a’dā’(i), wa minal-jū’i fa innahū bi’sad-dajī’(u), wa minal-khiynati fa innahā bi’satil-biţāna(tu),wa an narji’a ‘alā a’ qābinā,aw nuftana ‘an dīninā, wa minal-fitami mā zahara minhā wa mā baţan(a),wa min yawmis-sū’(i),wa min laylatis-sū’(i), wa min sā’atis-sū’(i),wa min sāhibis-sū’.
O Allah, I seek Your protection from bad morals, deeds, desires, and diseases. We seek Your protection from the evil of everything for which Your Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and Peace be upon him) sought Your protection. And from a bad neighbour where we live, for a bad neighbour in travel moves away. And from domination of the enemy and the ridicule of the enemies. And from hunger; indeed, it is a bad bedfellow. And from betrayal of trust, for it is a bad intimate. And from that we should turn back on our feet, or that we should be persecuted into separation from our religion. And from tribulations both open and hidden, from the bad day, the bad night, the bad moment, and the bad companion.
*Thought For The Day*
When we allow worldly things to saturate our senses, our hearts become blind to lack of modesty, deaf to the warnings of our Lord, dumb to speak what is good and wholesome, and numb to the point where we feel no regret for our sins. Guard your heart wisely, for it is where the Light (Qur’an) can shine from and guide you swiftly across The Bridge, on the day from which there is no escape.
