*The Happiest Woman in the World*
*(A Treasure Chest of Reminders)*
*Part 7 of 5*
*DEATH IS PREFERABLE TO DOING HARĀM (FORBIDDEN) ACTIONS*
"Be happy just to be alive."
According to the hadīth narrated by 'Abdullāh ibn 'Umar ibn al-Khattāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) about the three people who stayed overnight in the cave, then a rock fell down the mountain and blocked the entrance of the cave, so they prayed to ALLĀH, the Exalted, to save them and mentioned their righteous deeds, the second of them said:
"O' Allāh, I had a female cousin who was the most beloved of people to me - according to another report, I used to love her as much as any man can love a woman - and I approached her but she refused my approaches, until in one year she became very poor and desperate, so she came to me and I gave her one hundred and twenty dinars on condition that she lets me have my way with her. But when I sat between her legs she said, 'Fear Allāh, and do not tear it apart except in a lawful manner.' This girl was pious and did not let him have his way with her initially, but when she was in desperate need because of poverty, she had no choice, but she reminded him of Allāh, the Powerful, and told him to fear Him. This prompted feelings of faith in his heart and reminded him that if he wanted her, he should marry her in a proper manner and not commit zinā (adultery) with her. That deterred him and he repented to Allāh, the Almighty, Most Merciful, and that was the cause that part of the rock was moved on to the day it blocked the door of the cave.
"Learn how to co-exist with fear and it will disappear."
*{To be continued In-sha-Allāh (If Allāh Wills)...}*
*"And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers."* (Qur'an 51:55)
