*A strong warning from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ*
Assaalam Alaikum - this hadith is one of the hadith i find very scary and frightening. So open your heart.
One day the Prophet embarked on His Mimbar for the Friday khutba (sermon). Suddenly the companions heard Him said Amin. When He reached the second step He said Amin again. When He reached the third step He said amin again.
After the salah, His companions became curious, so they asked. Ya Rasulullah, what happened when you said Amin thrice. The Prophet replied.
First step.
Angel Jibril (AS) came to me and made a dua, that, May Allah curse anyone who saw the month of Ramadan from start to end, and yet, he didn't do anything worthy that pleases Allah. So I said Amin.
Second step.
Jibril said again, may Allah curse anyone who meet his parents through out his life time, and yet, he didn't serve them well enough to get him to jannah. The Prophet said amin.
Third step.
Lastly Jibril said, may Allah curse anyone who heard the name of the Prophet mentioned and he or she didn't say Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam. The Prophet said amin.
My dear Muslims, the lessons drawn from this hadith are as follows:
1. If you are opportune to witness Ramadan. You must try to do something good e.g. Sadaqa, ibada, etc. Failure to do so put you under the first curse.
2. Allah ta'alah makes obedience to parents and serving them a very important task. Allah always put His worship and obedience of parents together, to tell you how important it is. Hence, we must serve our parents to the extent of getting jannah through them.
3. Lastly, it is part of respecting the Prophet to say Sallallahu Alaihi wa sallam when His name is uttered. Refusal to say it is a sign of disrespect to our Prophet. It takes less than 2 seconds to utter these words.
May Allah forgive us and keep us steadfast. Amin.
