Facing Qibla when using toilet
Bismillah - Many of us are unaware about the fact that Allah has forbidden us from facing the qibla when using the toilet. This means that whatever we enter into toilets, we must avoid facing qibla, instead, we turn to the other side. Likewise when building a toilet, a toilet should be built in the other direction rather than qibla. This is evident in the hadith of Salman Al Parisi.
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) forbade us to face the Qiblah when defecating or urinating, or to clean ourselves using the right hand, or to clean ourselves with less than three stones, or to clean ourselves with dung or a bone [Reported by Muslim].
Another hadith added that,
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) says "Neither face nor turn your back to the Qiblah while defecating or urinating, but turn towards the east or the west" . [Reported by the As-Sab'a]
The above hadith taught us not only to avoid facing Qiblah, but also to avoid using the right hand when cleaning one's self.
