Today’s Beautiful Hadith is about Generosity
Abu Hurayra (ra) said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was asked, 'Which people are the most generous?'' He replied, 'The most generous of them in the sight of Allah are those with the most taqwa.' They said, 'That is not what we are asking about.' He said, 'The most generous of people was Yusuf (as), the Prophet of Allah, son of the Prophet of Allah, who was the son of the Intimate Friend of Allah (Ibrahim (as)).' They said, 'That is not what we are asking about.' He said, 'Are you asking about those of Arab origin?' 'Yes,' they replied. He said, 'The best of you in the Jahiliyya is the best of you in Islam when you have understanding from Allah)."
(Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 129, Book 7, Hadith 1)
The most generous of people are those with an understanding of Islam in their hearts. If everything you do is from a good place then all that you do will bring reward to you and blessings to others. Islam encourages a universal brotherhood where there is no superiority of one race over another, we are all equal and the Arab is not superior to the non-Arab and vice versa. Alhamdulillah for the message to humanity and the Messenger of Allah (saw).
