 Islam and what is islam

Alhamdulillah, 

الاسلام هو استسلام لله بالتوحيد وانقيد بالله بالطاعة واخلص الدين فقط والشرك

Islam means to submit to ALLAH upon tawheed and to be upon and steadfast to his obedience and to be sincere in our deeds and to avoid shirk. 

That is islam

There are five pillars of islam

The first and foremost is to bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is his servant and messenger. 

To establish the prayer

To give out zakaah

To fast in the month of Ramadhan. 

To perform Hajj

And we have six classes of Eeman

The first is believe in Allah، his angels, his sacred scriptures, his messengers, believe in the last day and believe in Qadr whether good or evil is from Allah. 

And there is one rukn of ihsan. 

Which is to worship Allah as if one sees him and if one does not see him, then he sees us. This together builds up and make us muslims. 

Rejecting one of these make us apostasy.
