The importance of dawah in islam

The importance of dawah in islam

Alhamdulillah, Da'wah means call. It is obligatory upon anyone who has knowledge of the deen to spread it to the benefit of others.

Allah says in Quran,

Aal-e-Imran 3:110

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allāh. If only the People of the Scripture had believed, it would have been better for them. Among them are believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.

This ayah talks of the companions who were the first people to spread the deen after rasulullah salla Allahu alayhi wasalam and then taught the tabi'en who continue to teach it to it came to this era.

Allah calls us to preach with wisdom and good manners.

Allah says,

An-Nahl 16:125

Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has strayed from His way, and He is most knowing of who is [rightly] guided.

This ayah talks about to Mushriquun of mankind.

Allah tells rasulullah صل الله عليه وسلم saying,

Al-Muddaththir 74:1

O you who covers himself [with a garment],[1]

Al-Muddaththir 74:2

Arise and warn

Al-Muddaththir 74:3

And your Lord glorify,

Al-Muddaththir 74:4

And your clothing purify

Al-Muddaththir 74:5

And uncleanliness[1] avoid

Allah S.W.T tells the prophet to arise and warn people against shirk and to purify themselves from uncleanliness of idolatry.

Da'wah is the work of all the messengers to call people towards goodness and forbade them evil.

The reason is we get the similar reward when they act upon our message without any decrease in their reward.
