Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (r. a), one of the prophet's companions promised while still on earth used to concealed his acts of good deeds. Yes. Zubayr ibn al-Awwam (r.a) did not like to reveal his acts and said *‘If anyone can conceal their righteous deeds, please do so’*
My people!
This emphasises that when you perform a good deed, it does not need to be revealed unless necessary. However, in the case of fundraising (for instance), it's sometimes encouraging for one to reveal his donations to help with supporting a charitable cause *(publicly)*. Thus, it is not considered as revealing acts of goodness seeing people giving Sadaqah publicly and you join them to give. It all comes back to the intention of the individual. Yes. Sometimes, some people are ONLY motivated when they see others racing in doing good deeds. This is the type of jealousy Islam permit all of us to do. Yes. Always wanting to do better than others when it comes to doing good deeds for the sake of Allah (swt). Thus, it all comes back to the intention of the individual.
Servants of Allah!
Regarding concealing one’s good deeds, Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
*"To pray one rak’ah in the middle of the night is more beloved to me than praying ten rak’ahs during the day."*
Also,
The righteous predecessors, may Allah have mercy on them, have numerous sayings regarding hiding righteous deeds. Abu Hazim said:
Conceal your good deeds just as you conceal your bad deeds.
Bishr bin Al-Harith said:
Do not perform good deeds to be mentioned, conceal your good deeds just as you conceal your bad deeds.
Some of the sincere would say:
*"I do not count what is seen of my good deeds."*
