بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Muhammad ibn Ishaq said that there were many households in Madinah who did not know where their sustenance came from. When Ali ibn Al-Husayn died, they missed what used to be given to them at night. Abu Hamza Ath-Thumali said that Ali bin Al-Husayn used to carry a bag of bread on his back at night and distribute it as charity. He used to say, Secret charity extinguishes the Lord’s anger. Amr bin Thabit said that when Ali bin Al-Husayn died and they washed him, they noticed black marks on his back. They then realized that he used to carry bags of food on his back at night and deliver them to the poor households of Medina.

My people!

This emphasises that when you perform a good deed, it does not need to be revealed unless necessary. However, in the case of fundraising (for instance), it's sometimes encouraging for one to reveal his donations to help with supporting a charitable cause *(publicly)*. Thus, it is not considered as revealing acts of goodness seeing people giving Sadaqah publicly and you join them to give. It all comes back to the intention of the individual. Yes. Sometimes, some people are ONLY motivated when they see others racing in doing good deeds. This is the type of jealousy Islam permit all of us to do.

Regarding concealing one’s good deeds, Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

*"To pray one rak’ah in the middle of the night is more beloved to me than praying ten rak’ahs during the day."*

Still on this subject,

The righteous predecessors used to conceal their voluntary  prayers. Yes. Ayub As-Sikhtiyani used to pray at night and conceal it. If it was just before dawn, he would raise his voice as if he had only just begun praying at that moment. Abdul Rahman bin Abi Layla used to pray, and if someone entered, he would lie down on his bed.

Oh Muslims:

Concealed righteous deeds are generally better than those done openly. Allah Almighty says:

*"If you disclose your charitable expenditures, they are good; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, it is better for you"*. 📚Al-Baqarah (2) 271

Therefore, a believer should have acts of obedience that only Allah knows about.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...
