بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Sa'id ibn Zayd is one of the Prophets' Companion Promised Paradise on Earth. Zayd retraced his steps and headed for Makkah intending to meet the expected Prophet. As he was passing through the territory of Lakhm on the southern border of Syria he was attacked by a group of nomad Arabs and killed before he could set eyes on the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. However, before he breathed his last, he raised his eyes to the heavens and said:
"O Lord, if You have prevented me from attaining this good, do not prevent my son from doing so."
God, may He be glorified, heard the prayer of Zayd. When Muhammad the Messenger of God rose up inviting people to Islam, his son Said was in the forefront of those who believed in the oneness of God and who affirmed their faith in the prophethood of Muhammad.
*Lessons from the above:*
Make it a habit to be making Dua for your children
As parents, we must try our utmost best and make du'a to Allah *(either in Arabic language or in your mother tongue)* to make our children pious and successful. Du'a making is one aspect of child raising where majority of parents fall-shot of today. Yes. Majority of parents today only make du'a for their children *"only "* when there is emergency
Make Dua for ur parents and your children in presence of ur children (in any language). Let them hear you mentioning your parent's name in your Du'a. This will teach them to remember you in their Du'a. This will also reminds them how much you love them and your concern for them.
Obedient Servant of Allah!
Create time once in a while to ask your children, whether they have remember you in their Du'a. Yes. You can call anyone of them - For instance *"Abdullah! - Have you prayed? Did you make Du'a for me your dad & your mom?"* - Wallahi Tallahi, this simple little action will let them know how much you want them to make Du'a for you everyday.
Remember that,
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or *a righteous child who prays for him.*” 📚Muslim 1631
Furthermore,
Children are not only to be well-fed, well-groomed, properly dressed for the weather and for appearance, well-taken care of in terms of housing and utilities. It is more important to offer the child comparable care in terms of Islamic education, religious training, and spiritual guidance. The heart of a child must be filled with faith. A child’s mind must be entertained with proper Islamic guidance, knowledge and wisdom.. Clothes, food, housing, schooling are not, by any means, an indication of proper care of the child. Islamic education and guidance is far more important to a child than this food, grooming and appearance.
