DISCUSSION OF THE INDIVIDUAL LETTERS AT THE BEGINNING OF SŪRAH

*DISCUSSION OF THE INDIVIDUAL LETTERS AT THE BEGINNING OF SŪRAH* ALLĀH, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful says; > *الم (Alif Lam Mim)* The individual letters in the beginning of some Surahs are among those things whose knowledge ALLĀH has kept only for Himself. This was reported from Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, Ali and Ibn Mas'ud. It was said that these letters are the names of some of the Surahs. It was also said that they are the beginnings that ALLĀH chose to start the Surahs of the Qur'an with. Khasif stated that Mujahid said, "The beginnings of the Surahs, such as Qāf, Sād, Ṭā Sīn Mīm and Alif Lām Rā, are just some letters of the alphabet." Some linguists also stated that; they are letters of the alphabet and that ALLĀH simply did not cite the entire alphabet of twenty-eight letters. For instance, they said, one might say, "My son recites Alif, Ba, Ta, Tha..." he means the entire alphabet although he stops before mentioning the rest of it. This opinio...

THE PROHIBITION OF KILLING CHILDREN

*THE PROHIBITION OF KILLING CHILDREN* ALLĀH says, > *وَلَا تَقۡتُلُوٓاْ أَوۡلَٰدَكُم مِّنۡ إِمۡلَٰقٍۖ* > *Do not kill your children (male or female) for fear of poverty.* That is, because you are worried about how to provide for them, as happened during the jahiliyah when hard-heartedness and injustice prevailed. If they are prohibited to kill their own children in this situation, then killing their children for no reason, or killing the children of others, is even more emphatically prohibited, for > *نَّحۡنُ نَرۡزُقُكُمۡ وَإِيَّاهُمۡۖ* > *WE provide for you and for them.* That is, WE have guaranteed the provision of all. You are not the ones who provide for your children or even for yourselves, so there is no need to worry about them. *{Tafsi‌r As-Sa'di}* #sadi #Anam (6:151)

BASMALLĀH IS RECOMMENDED BEFORE PERFORMING ANY DEED

*BASMALLĀH IS RECOMMENDED BEFORE PERFORMING ANY DEED* Basmalāh (reciting Bismillāh) is recommended before starting any action or deed. For instance, - Basmalāh is recommended before starting a Khutbah (speech). - The Basmalāh is also recommended before one enters the place where he wants to relieve himself, there is a Hadith concerning this practice. - Further, Basmalāh is recommended at the beginning of ablution, for Imam Ahmad and the Sunan compilers recorded that Abu Hurayrah, Said bin Zayd and Abu Said narrated from the Prophet (ﷺ): *"There is no valid ablution for he who did not mention ALLAH'S Name in it".* This Hadith is Hasan (good). Also, the Basmalāh is recommended before eating, for Muslim recorded in his Sahih that the Messenger of ALLĀH (ﷺ) said to Umar bin Abi Salamah while he was a child under his care: *"Say Bismillāh, eat with your right hand and eat from whatever is next to you."* Some of the scholars stated that Basmalāh before eating is obli...

THE PROHIBITION OF INSULTING THE FALSE gods OF THE DISBELIEVERS IS TO PREVENT THEM FROM INSULTING ALLĀH

*THE PROHIBITION OF INSULTING THE FALSE gods OF THE DISBELIEVERS IS TO PREVENT THEM FROM INSULTING ALLĀH* ALLĀH says, > *وَلَا تَسُبُّوا۟ ٱلَّذِینَ یَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَیَسُبُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عَدۡوَۢا بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۗ كَذَ ٰلِكَ زَیَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَیُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ* > *Do not insult what they invoke besides ALLĀH or they will insult ALLĀH spitefully out of ignorance. This is how WE have made each people’s deeds appealing to them. Then to their Lord is their return, and HE will inform them of what they used to do.* Here ALLĀH forbids the believers to do something that had originally been permissible and even prescribed, which is reviling the gods of the polytheists, which they took as idols and gods besides ALLĀH, as scorning and reviling them was a means of drawing closer to ALLĀH. But because this was something that may be a cause of the polytheists reviling the Lord of the worlds, Who shoul...

RETALIATION FOR WOUNDS

*RETALIATION FOR WOUNDS* ALLĀH said,    > *وَالْجُرُوحَ قِصَاصٌ*  > *and wounds equal for equal.* Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas said: "Life for life, an eye for an eye, a nose, if cut off, for a nose, a tooth broken for a tooth and wounds equal for wound." The free Muslims, men and women, are equal in this matter. And their slaves, male and female, are equal in this matter. And this ruling is the same regarding intentional murder and lesser offenses, as Ibn Jarir and Ibn Abi Hatim recorded. *AN IMPORTANT RULING* The retaliation for wounds should not be implemented until the wounds of the victim heal. If retaliation occurs before the wound heals, and then the wound becomes aggravated, the victim will have no additional rights in this case. The proof for this ruling is what Imam Ahmad narrated from Amr bin Shu’aib from his father, from his grandfather that; "a man once stabbed another man in his leg using a horn. The victim came to the Prophet (ﷺ) a...

Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 9 --]]

*Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 9 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم We are all here for a short time. One day, we will leave this world and go back to Allah (swt). What will we bring to Allah? What kind of companion are we inviting to be visiting us in our graves? Music? Muslim Faithful, Our hearts are like a clean glass. But this world is dusty. Every day, dust gets in. The dust of bad thoughts, bad habits, backbiting, gossip, watching haram programs on TVs and small or big sins. This dust makes our hearts dirty. A dirty heart does not listen easily. When the heart is dirty, we find it hard to obey Allah. We do things we know we shouldn't. It feels like a struggle. But Allah did not leave us like this. He sent us a perfect cleaner for our hearts. That cleaner is the Qur'an. And Guess what? The best part of it is that, you don't even need to understand the Arabic words right now. Yes. Just read the Qur'an (at least 5 to 10 pages daily- minimum). Just liste...

The dangers of "Bid'ah"(Religious Innovation in Islam) and the need for tolerance

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum al-ithnayn, 26th day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Monday, 17th November, 2025.  *_The dangers of "Bid'ah"(Religious Innovation in Islam) and the need for tolerance_*. BismilLah. I would like to remind myself and all brothers and sisters in Islam that, Islam is a complete way of life. Islam is not about what we think or what our Sheikh or our Imam or our fathers says but Islam is the way the Prophet taught us been narrated to us through the companions and their students till today. Whatever your father, Imam etc says about the deen, respectfully ask him for proof from the Quran, Sunnah or consensus of past scholars.  We read from almost any speech of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi the statements "Wa sharrul Umoori Muhdathaatuhaa, Wa kulla Bid'atin dhalalah, wa kulla dhalalatin fin-naar" (Sahih Muslim). Translation of the above Hadith: "Every religious innovation is a misguidance and every misguidance goes to Hell fire. The prophe...

CO-WIVES SHOULD LIVE LIKE MUSLIM SISTERS TO THEIR HUSBAND NOT AS RIVALS

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaumul ahad, 25th day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Sunday, 16th November, 2025.  *_CO-WIVES SHOULD LIVE LIKE MUSLIM SISTERS TO THEIR HUSBAND NOT AS RIVALS_*. BismilLah.  Undoubtedly, marrying more than one wife is a blessings and it's sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam so let's embrace it with fear of ALLAH Azzawajal. ALLAH Azzawajal doesn't permit anything bad so to see polygamy as bad or disliked is like saying to ALLAH, you permitted the wrong thing which no one will dare to say so let's strive for it only if we can fulfil it's obligations. Go for it without any fear if you've got good intentions. If you can't afford then maintain the one sincerely seeking ALLAH'S blessings but if you can manage two very well financially and fairly with fear of ALLAH Azzawajal then go for it brother.   The bond that governed the relationships between the wives of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) was t...

Avoid 👄 Service

*Avoid 👄 Service* ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Think about this for a moment. Right now, in a hospital, someone is struggling to breathe. They need a machine to help them. Right now, someone cannot pass urine or go to the toilet without a doctor's help. Right now, someone is finding it hard to even swallow their own saliva. Think of all the people you knew, who were your age, who have died. But you are still here. Allah (swt) has chosen you to live until today. Now, look at your own life. Do you have a job or not? Are you married or not? Do you have children or not? Are you rich or poor? Are you perfectly healthy or facing some sickness? My People, In any condition you are in, you are far, far better than millions of other people. This is a fact. If this is true, then you must say "Thank You" to Allah (swt). Not just sometimes, but all the time. Now, Who gets the benefit of being a thankful servant? You. Yourself. And, Allah (swt) Himself promises in the Q...

ENDURING GRIEF AND HARDSHIP IN LIFE AS MUSLIMS

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum As-sabt, 24th day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Saturday, 15th November, 2025.  *_ENDURING GRIEF AND HARDSHIP IN LIFE AS MUSLIMS_*. BismilLaahir Rahmanir Raheem.  In Qur'an chapter 2, verses 155-157, Allah subhanallahu ta’ala reminds us: "Verily, ALLAH will test you with something of fear and hunger; some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere Who says when afflicted with calamity: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhir raji-oon" "To ALLAH we belong and to HIM is our return." They are those on whom (descend) blessings from ALLAH and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance." From these verses, we can see that in a Muslim’s life, death, hardship, and suffering should never come as a complete surprise. In fact, ALLAH Azzawajal promises us some sort of difficulties as a certainty, somewhere during our lifetime. It is a test of our eeman, our faith in ALLAH Azzawa...

FAJR REMINDER: HIS ACCEPTANCE OF ISLĀM

FAJR REMINDER: HIS ACCEPTANCE OF ISLĀM  By: Umm Affan Jumādā al-’Ūlā 24, 1447 (15-November-2025) On his journey to Madīnah to embrace Islām, he encountered ‘Uthmān Ibn Ṭalḥah, to whom he shared his intentions. ‘Uthmān consented and chose to accompany him. They traveled together until they reached Al-Haddah, where they met ‘Amr Ibn Al-Aas. He welcomed them, asking, “Where are you heading to?” Since they all shared the same objective, they continued together until they approached the outskirts of Madīnah, where they paused to change their clothes. They entered Madīnah on the first day of Ṣafar in the eighth year of Hijrah. The Prophet (ﷺ) had already been notified of their arrival, and he was filled with joy. Upon seeing the Prophet (ﷺ), Khālid greeted him with a bright smile, and the Prophet responded with a face radiating happiness. Khālid Ibn al-Walīd accepted Islām on the spot and affirmed the truth, pledging his allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ). Fully aware that he had previo...

Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 8 --]]

*Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 8 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم Look at the world today. The rich and the poor share a common struggle: The richest people have everything money can buy. Yet, they still fight sickness that has no cure. Their families still face problems that no amount of money can solve—like fear, bad luck, broken relationships and a feeling of emptiness that won't go away. The poor struggle to survive, swim in the undesirables. From the above analysis, both the rich and the poor share the same inner pain: constant worry, endless frustration, and a peace of mind that never stays. Why is this happening to everyone? The answer is simple, and it comes from Allah (swt) Himself in the Quran: "Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves...." 📚(Qur'an 13:11) Think about that. Your life right now—your happiness, your struggles, your peace—is a direct result of what is inside you. Yes. And t...

Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 7 --]]

*Take Free Drugs* [[-- Episode 7 --]] ------------------ بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم There was a man named Muktar. Muktar was a good man to his wife and children. He was a Muslim. He prayed his five prayers, mostly. He believed in Allah with all his heart. One night, Muktar had a dream. It was not a normal dream. It was clear and felt very real. In the dream, he died. He saw his own funeral. People were crying. Then, two angels came to him. They were kind, but their faces were serious. They took him to his grave. Inside the grave, it was dark and tight. Then, a door opened in the darkness. A beautiful, shining man walked in. His face was bright like the moon, and he smelled nicer than any flower. He brought a light that made the grave feel like a garden. The man smiled at Muktar. "I am the rewards of your kindness to your wife and children." Muktar felt a happiness he had never felt before. He was safe. But then, another door opened. A terrifying creature entered. It was ugly an...

WORSHIPING WITH UNDERSTANDING

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaumul Jumuat, 23rd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Friday, 14th November, 2025.  *_WORSHIPING WITH UNDERSTANDING_*. BismilLah. Alhamdulillah for granting us the opportunity to be part of this blessed day of the week. Brothers and Sisters is Islaam, I hope no-one will take offence, and I mean no disrespect to anyone. But I have to say that too many of us do not appreciate the importance of understanding the meaning of our salaah, our du'ah and dhikr. Most of us are quite satisfied to recite without knowing the meaning, without caring to learn the translations including myself. I’m sure ALLAH Azzawajal enjoys listening to us reciting HIS holy Words with such tremendous passion, with meticulous pronunciation of every haraf in tajweed. But, how much more will ALLAH Azzawajal not appreciate our efforts, if we actually knew what we are saying?  Imagine, we are speaking to ALLAH Azzawajal in the most elegant language of the Quran, our lips are moving and c...
