FAJR REMINDER: HIS ACCEPTANCE OF ISLĀM

Jumādā al-’Ūlā 24, 1447 (15-November-2025)
On his journey to Madīnah to embrace Islām, he encountered ‘Uthmān Ibn Ṭalḥah, to whom he shared his intentions. ‘Uthmān consented and chose to accompany him. They traveled together until they reached Al-Haddah, where they met ‘Amr Ibn Al-Aas. He welcomed them, asking, “Where are you heading to?”
Since they all shared the same objective, they continued together until they approached the outskirts of Madīnah, where they paused to change their clothes. They entered Madīnah on the first day of Ṣafar in the eighth year of Hijrah. The Prophet (ﷺ) had already been notified of their arrival, and he was filled with joy. Upon seeing the Prophet (ﷺ), Khālid greeted him with a bright smile, and the Prophet responded with a face radiating happiness. Khālid Ibn al-Walīd accepted Islām on the spot and affirmed the truth, pledging his allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ).
Fully aware that he had previously fought against Allāh and His Messenger, as well as the believers, leading to a loss for them in battle, he approached the Prophet and implored, “O Prophet of Allāh! Pray to Allāh that He may forgive me!” The Prophet (ﷺ) replied, “Yā Khālid! A man who enters Islām, all his past sins are forgiven.” However, Khālid (Raḍiyallāhu ‘Anhu) pressed on, recalling that he was the cause of their defeat at the Battle of Uhud, where the Prophet (ﷺ) had bled, and the companions thought he had died. How could he let this go unaccounted for? The Prophet (ﷺ) then said, “Yā Allāh! Forgive Khālid for whatever he has done and allow him to be a front and a fighter, a warrior to fight for the cause of Islām and not for the cause of evil.”
Following this, ‘Amr Ibn Al-Aas and ‘Uthmān Ibn Ṭalḥah also stepped forward, embracing Islām and pledging their allegiance to the Prophet (ﷺ). To be continued, Allāh willing.
I beseech Allāh to be Especially Merciful to Khālid Ibn al-Walīd. Ameen.
