Volume 6, Book 60, Number 341:

Narrated 'Abdullah:

There gathered near the House (i.e. the Ka'ba) two Quraishi persons and a person from Thaqif (or two persons from Thaqif and one from Quraish), and all of them with very fat bellies but very little intelligence. One of them said, "Do you think that Allah hears what we say?" Another said, "He hears us when we talk in a loud voice, but He doesn't hear us when we talk in a low tone." The third said, "If He can hear when we talk in a loud tone, then He can also hear when we speak in a low tone." Then Allah, the Honorable, the Majestic revealed:

'And you have not been screening against yourself lest your ears, and eyes and your skins should testify against you....' (41.22-23)

Two Quraish persons  and a person from Thaqif gathered near the Ka'abah dispute themselves as to whether Allah hears what they say. One disputed that Allah hears only when they talk loundly but doesn't when in low tone. The other then said , since HE hears in  loud tone then he will hear in low tone too. It was then this  verses was revealed. Allah is reminding us/them that our skin, ears ,eyes will bear witness for us. We should be mindful of how we utilize our bodies created by Allah azalea wa jalla , because they will all testify against/for us. A gossiping mouth will testify against its person. A devout believer will equally testify for its person.

It is made lawful for you to approach your wives during the nights of the fasts. They are like clothes for you and you are like clothes for them. Allah knows that you broke the trust in the case of your own right. But He has shown mercy to you and has forgiven you. So, have sexual relations with them now (during the nights of the fasts without any inhibition) and seek what Allah has prescribed for you. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you (separated) from the black thread (of night). Then complete the fast till dusk. And refrain from having sexual contact with your wives, whilst you are in retreat in the mosques. These are the bounds (set) by Allah. So do not draw near to them (to step over). Thus Allah explains His Verses (clearly) for the people, so that they may embrace piety.

Volume 6, Book 60, Number 35:

Narrated Al-Bara:

When the order of compulsory fasting of Ramadan was revealed, the people did not have sexual relations with their wives for the whole month of Ramadan, but some men cheated themselves (by violating that restriction). So Allah revealed:-- "Allah is aware that you were deceiving yourselves but He accepted your repentance and for gave you.." (2.187)

Fasting on the day of Ashura was made optional when Ramadan was made compulsory. In those period, it was forbidden to have sexual relation with one's partner during the night hours in Ramadan. Some sahaabas violated this restriction for which this verse was revealed. It now permit us to do such things in Ramadan. Many   things were made unlawful after they were made lawful. For instance *mut'a marriage* was made lawful and later made unlawful. This marriage is a onion of couple which expires in a given period.

This type of marriage is believe to still exist in the *Shia* sect of Islam. For instance alcohol wasn't made harram till a certain period in Islam. Prostrating to human wasn’t prohibited till the advent of Islam. Marrying of siblings was allowed for Prophet Ya’qub married siblings. It was however abolished. We are also permitted to taste food when fasting but should make sure we don't swallow them. Fasting is spiritual act which draws us closer to Allah. For his reason is why we shouldn’t limit it to Ramàdan but fast on Mondays and Thursdays, three days in every month, Arafat fast and others.

Allah commands you concerning (the inheritance of) your children: The share of a son is equal to that of two daughters; then if there are only daughters (two or) more, they are entitled to two-thirds of the inheritance; if there is only one daughter, her share will be one half; the mother and the father of the deceased will get one-sixth of the inheritance each if the deceased leaves children behind; but in case the deceased has no children and the heirs are only his mother and his father, the mother’s share is one-third (and the rest is the father’s); then, if he has brothers and sisters, the mother will have a sixth portion. This distribution will be (executed) after (the fulfilment of) the will he may have made or after (the payment of) the debt. You know not which of them, whether your parents or your sons, are closer to you in bringing you benefit. This (distribution) is a duty assigned (i.e., fixed) by Allah. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, Most Wise.

The Prophet and Abu Bakr came on foot to pay me a visit (during my illness) at Banu Salama's (dwellings). The Prophet found me unconscious, so he asked for water and performed the ablution from it and sprinkled some water over it. I came to my senses and said, "O Allah's Apostle! What do you order me to do as regards my wealth?" So there was revealed:--

"Allah commands you as regards your children's (inheritance):" (4.11)

Abu Bakar and The holy Prophet once visited Jabir during his illness at Banu Salama. Prophet found him unconscious so he asked for water and performed ablution from it before sprinkling some over it. Jabir then came to his senses. He then asked Prophet as to how he is to go by his wealth. It then that this verse was revealed to the Prophet. The verse explains how the deceased property should be distributed. Due to one or two reasons we can’t elaborate much on the distribution of properties of the deceased.

One must always fear Allah and reflect on his meeting with him so that they act accordingly.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 20th day of Swafar 1447AH, Thursday, 14th August 2025. *_PURIFICATION OF THE HEART_*. BismilLah.  A sister asked me yesterday how we can purify ourselves to achieve the immense benefits mentioned in our reminder yesterday.  The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs).   ALLAH Azzawajal says: He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also, ALLAH Azzawajal says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to ALLAH Azzawajal with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrog...

BELIEF IN PRE-DECREE (al-Qadar) CREATES PEACE IN OUR HEART continues

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm Arba'a, 26th day of Swafar 1447AH, Wednesday, 20th August 2025. *_BELIEF IN PRE-DECREE (al-Qadar) CREATES PEACE IN OUR HEART continues_*. BismilLah.  For the past few days, we have been reminding ourselves that calamities in our lives can also be blessings in disguise. Let's continue with some of the wisdom behind calamities:  10. Another reason behind calamities and hardship is that a person becomes able to distinguish between true friends and friends who only have their own interests at heart. You may be so close to a colleague but wait for a calamity to you to see his or her real nature.  11. Calamities remind us of our sins so that we can repent from them.  ALLAH Azzawajal says:  “Whatever of good reaches you, is from ALLAH, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself” [al-Nisa’ 4:79]. “And whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much” [al-Shoora 42:30]. Calamitie...
