*Ur Bank Account*
------------------بسم الله الرحمان الرجيم
In a world that runs on money—where we chase Naira, Dollars, and financial security—what if you were told about an asset that yields a return no currency can buy? An investment that doesn’t fluctuate with the market, cannot be stolen, and grows in value for all eternity.
This is the divine opportunity of Tahajjud.
My People,
While money can buy temporary comfort that can not even give peace of mind in some cases, the consistent prayer of Tahajjud buys something far far greater: Divine Closeness, Inner Peace, Answered Prayers, Spiritual Strength, etc etc.
Lest I forget,
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the night prayer." 📚(Sahih Muslim).
The reality is,
No bank account, no salary, no cryptocurrency can offer what Tahajjud provides. Yes. This is the wealth of the soul—the true, lasting treasure.
But a crucial question often arises: "When is the best time to wake up for Tahajjud?"
The answer is both simple and profound. While the entire night after Isha is a time for voluntary prayer, the most virtuous and powerful time for Tahajjud is the last third of the night (from 1AM to 4:30AM) or roughly 30minutes before fajr prayer time.
Why?
This is when Allah (swt), in His infinite mercy, descends to the lowest heaven and asks, "Who is calling upon Me, that I may answer him? Who is asking of Me, that I may give him? Who is seeking My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?" 📚(Sahih al-Bukhari).
Servants of Allah,
Your "best time" is your personal appointment with this divine invitation. To ensure you can keep this appointment without compromising or miss Fajr prayer ontime, here are ways you can go about it to record a success:
(1) For those who can wake up for Tahajjud around 1:00AM (for instance), use few minutes to pray Tahajjud and go back to catch up with sleep: you can set another separate phone alarm for Fajr prayer (just like you set phone alarm to wake them for Tahajjud).
(2) For those who fear that they may miss fajr prayer ontime if they wake up for Tahajjud and go back to catch up with sleep: you can wake up at least one hour before fajr prayer time (say - 4:00AM), use 30minutes for Tahajjud, then, stay awake to wait for Fajr prayer time.
(3) For people who usually go to bed very late OR fear not waking up for Tahajjud (even with phone alarm ring): you can pray any rakaah you like before going to bed.
It's beneficial to know the specific terms for our night prayers. Yes
Any prayer offered at night after Isha is called Qiyamul-Lail. This includes the valuable worship you do before you go to sleep. So, if you pray before bed, you have certainly performed a good deed and will be rewarded for it.
However,
The special prayer known as Tahajjud is specifically the one you pray after waking up from sleep. Its unique virtue lies in the struggle it requires. The greater reward comes from the sincere effort of fighting your desire to sleep, leaving your warm bed, and waking up solely to stand before Allah. This act of overcoming your own comfort for His pleasure is what makes Tahajjud particularly beloved and rewarding.
Finally,
The Prophet (PBUH) said: *“O `Abdullah, do not be like so and so! He used to pray at night and then he stopped doing that”*(📚Al-Bukhari and Muslim
