It is made lawful for you to approach your wives during the nights of the fasts. They are like clothes for you and you are like clothes for them. Allah knows that you broke the trust in the case of your own right. But He has shown mercy to you and has forgiven you. So, have sexual relations with them now (during the nights of the fasts without any inhibition) and seek what Allah has prescribed for you. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you (separated) from the black thread (of night). Then complete the fast till dusk. And refrain from having sexual contact with your wives, whilst you are in retreat in the mosques. These are the bounds (set) by Allah. So do not draw near to them (to step over). Thus Allah explains His Verses (clearly) for the people, so that they may embrace piety.

I said, "O Allah's Apostle! What is the meaning of the white thread distinct from the black thread? Are these two threads?" He said, "You are not intelligent if you watch the two threads." He then added, "No, it is the darkness of the night and the whiteness of the day.''

Volume 6, Book 60, Number 38:

Narrated Sahl bin Sad: The Verse:--

"And eat and drink until the white thread appears to you distinct from the black thread." was revealed, but: '... of dawn' was not revealed (along with it) so some men, when intending to fast, used to tie their legs, one with white thread and the other with black thread and would keep on eating till they could distinguish one thread from the other. Then Allah revealed' ... of dawn,' whereupon they understood that meant the night and the day.

“*Eat and drink until white thread appears to you from the black thread”* can be explained convincly from the Hadith as *the darkness of the night and the whitness if the day*. We should eat and drink suhur till we see the whitness of the day. The verse also tells us of how we are to refrain from our wives during itikaaf periods. Technology has however had become useful that this debate has been dealt with, with the invention of clock. One can now figure when to stop eating during suhur with the help of the clock. This(clock) isn’t *bid’a* because it do not directly influence(negatively) worship.

And when you divorce the women and they reach (the completion of) their waiting period, then do not prevent them from remarrying (their former or latter) husbands when they have mutually agreed according to the Islamic law. This is a direction for him amongst you who believes in Allah and the Last Day. It is most pure, clean and wholesome for you. And Allah knows and you do not know (so many things).

The sister of Ma'qal bin Yasar was divorced by her husband who left her till she had fulfilled her term of 'Iddat (i.e. the period which should elapse before she can Remarry) and then he wanted to remarry her but Maqal refused, so this Verse was revealed:--

"Do not prevent them from marrying their (former) husbands." (2.232)

Misunderstanding is eminent in every union(marriage). Umar once had misunderstanding with his wife, so as many human. Sayidinaa Ali use to head to the mosque after quarreling with Fatima. When this disputes fail to resolve, then divorce becomes obvious. Divorce result for m many reasons. For instance, Abu Bakar divorced His wife, who was the mother to Ayish and Abdur-Rahman because she didn't accept Islam. Likewise Prophet ordered was happy when his daughters divorced their respective husbands who refused to accept Islam. We know Prophet was called to Prophethood at age fourty by which time few if his daughters had married.

After several attempt to lure them(husbands) to accept Islam, and also to convince them (the two daughters) to renounce Islam, divorce became obvious. We can also recall that Prophet Ibrahim pbuh once instructed his son(Ismail) to divorce his wife for which he obeyed. Abu Bakar also did same to his son because the wife's love made him start making missing salaht. However Prophet brought that marriage together. Divorce is one lawful thing Allah hate. It is allowed one two or more situation arises.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
