Think about this for a moment.
Right now, in a hospital, someone is struggling to breathe. They need a machine to help them.
Right now, someone cannot pass urine or go to the toilet without a doctor's help.
Right now, someone is finding it hard to even swallow their own saliva.
Think of all the people you knew, who were your age, who have died. But you are still here. Allah (swt) has chosen you to live until today.
Now, look at your own life.
Do you have a job or not? Are you married or not? Do you have children or not? Are you rich or poor? Are you perfectly healthy or facing some sickness?
My People,
In any condition you are in, you are far, far better than millions of other people. This is a fact.
If this is true, then you must say "Thank You" to Allah (swt). Not just sometimes, but all the time.
Now,
Who gets the benefit of being a thankful servant? You. Yourself.
And,
Allah (swt) Himself promises in the Quran: "If you are grateful, I will certainly give you more." π(Quran 14:7)
But how do we truly say "thank you" for all these blessings?
Slaves of Allah!
It is more than just saying the word "Alhamdulillah" with our lips. Yes. The best way to show real gratitude is by making Tahajjud your habit.
This is how our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) showed his thanks to Allah.
In fact,
There is an authentic hadith about him. He would stand in prayer at night for so long that his blessed feet would swell and become painful. His wife (Nana Aishah - R.A) asked him, "Why do you do this when Allah has forgiven all your sins?" He replied: "Should I not be a thankful slave?" πVolume 2, Book 21, Number 230: Narrated Al-Mughira
This is the proof. Showing gratitude is a physical action. It is about getting up from a warm, soft bed in the deepest, coldest part of the night. It is about standing before Allah when everyone else is asleep.
Consistent?
Yes, consistent.
We have not read that the Prophet ?pbuh) prayed Tahajjud only on the days he felt like it. He did it consistently.
So, every single blessing you have—your breath, your health, your life—is a gift from Allah. The best "Thank You" card you can give Him is your prayer in the silence of the night.
Therefore,
If you have not yet set your phone alarm in a repeating mode, to wake you up for midnight nawafil everyday till the end of ur life, pls do so immediately. Yes. Take it the way you can maintain for a long time without missing. At least, 2 raka'ats everyday and go back to catch up with your sleep. Just make it consistent.
Also,
Don't forget to use your lips to say "Alhamdulillah" countless times during the day. But in the middle of the night, let the Angels of Allah register your name amongst those who use their physical body to say "Thank You Allah". If you do this consistently, HE (Allah) has promised you more, more and more.
