FAJR REMINDER: UTILIZE YOUR ‘AQL EFFECTIVELY!

FAJR REMINDER: UTILIZE YOUR ‘AQL EFFECTIVELY!

Jumādā al-Ākhirah 4, 1447 (25-November-2025)

Special thanks to Allāh, who bestows honor upon every rational individual, distinguishing them from other beings with the gift of ‘Aql (mind or intellect). This faculty of reasoning enables our free will. It is thus crucial to use our ‘Aql wisely, as we will ultimately be questioned about it, which poses a significant trial.

Indeed, possessing the ability to reason allows us to reflect upon and remember Allāh in our private moments. The Prophet (ﷺ) highlighted seven types of individuals who will be shaded by Allāh on the Day of Judgment, a day when there will be no shade except His. He stated: “...A man who remembered Allāh in private and so his eyes shed tears.” [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 660, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1031] Allāh Akbar! Where should we focus our minds?

Moreover, through our ‘Aql, Allāh has illuminated the pathways leading to both success and ruin. Everyone is aware of the path they are on. Yes, individuals recognize their sins and transgressions, as well as their actions that contradict Allāh’s Religion (Islām) and its followers; they are also cognizant of the consequences of their wrongdoings. What, then, is the purpose of the ‘Aql granted to them if they fail to reflect and repent?

What is the rationale behind worshipping anything other than the Creator, such as stones, rivers, trees, and so forth? Allāh addresses this question: “Or do you think that most of them hear or understand? They are only like cattle; nay, they are even farther astray from the Path (i.e., even worse than cattle).” [Sūrah Al-Furqān (25): 44] Allāh further states: “Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allāh are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not (i.e., the disbelievers).” [Sūrah Al-Anfāl (8): 22]

Therefore, to evade doom, it is essential to utilize our ‘Aql productively.

I beseech Allāh to make us heedful. Aameen

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

BELIEF IN PRE-DECREE (al-Qadar) CREATES PEACE IN OUR HEART continues

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm Arba'a, 26th day of Swafar 1447AH, Wednesday, 20th August 2025. *_BELIEF IN PRE-DECREE (al-Qadar) CREATES PEACE IN OUR HEART continues_*. BismilLah.  For the past few days, we have been reminding ourselves that calamities in our lives can also be blessings in disguise. Let's continue with some of the wisdom behind calamities:  10. Another reason behind calamities and hardship is that a person becomes able to distinguish between true friends and friends who only have their own interests at heart. You may be so close to a colleague but wait for a calamity to you to see his or her real nature.  11. Calamities remind us of our sins so that we can repent from them.  ALLAH Azzawajal says:  “Whatever of good reaches you, is from ALLAH, but whatever of evil befalls you, is from yourself” [al-Nisa’ 4:79]. “And whatever misfortune befalls you, it is because of what your hands have earned. And He pardons much” [al-Shoora 42:30]. Calamitie...
