*AR-RAHĪQ AL-MAKHTOUM (The Pure Nectar). A Treaties On Prophet Muhammad's Biography.*

*Part 117*

*THE BATTLE OF UHUD continues*

*THE TERRIBLE MISTAKE OF THE BOWMEN*

While the Muslim army were scoring a sweeping victory over the Meccans, most of the bowmen made a costly mistake that transformed the situation completely, caused serious losses to Muslims and endangered the Prophet's life. It had a bad impact on their reputation and the glory they gained in the battle of Badr. We mentioned the commands the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) gave to the bowmen that they shouldn't leave their places in case of victory or defeat. In spite of these strict commands, they were destined to be worldly-minded and busy themselves collecting the booty with their fellow Muslims. They said to one another: "The booty! O people, the booty! Your companions have become victorious, what else are you waiting for now?" 'Abdullāh Ibn Jubair, their commander, said: "Have you forgotten what Allāh's Messenger said to you?" However, the majority of them disregarded advice and said replied: "We will go to the people (the Muslims) and collect our shares of the war booty." More than forty archers left their positions on the mountain and joined the remaining troops to collect the booty with them. Thus the backs of Muslims became unprotected and only Ibn Jubair and nine other archers remained in their places waiting for the Prophet's order or martyrdom in their places.

KHĀLID IBNUL-WALĪD PLANS TO ENCIRCLE THE MUSLIM ARMY

Khālid seized this opportunity and very rapidly he advanced towards the mountain of the bowmen and turned behind it to attack the rear ranks of Muslims. He killed 'Abdullāh Ibn Jubair and his fellow archers who remained with him. Then he assaulted violently the Muslims from behind and his cavalrymen gave a loud cry that made the polytheists perceive the new development in the battlefield. So they resumed fighting against Muslims, and one of their women hurried to the flag and lifted it. They assembled around it and called out one another attacking the Muslims and encircling them from front and behind.

THE PROPHET (Blessings and Peace be upon him) KEEPS STEADFAST IN FRONT OF THE ENCIRCLEMENT

At this moment the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) was fighting with a platoon of nine fighters at the rearguard where he was watching Muslims combating and pursuing the polytheists. Suddenly he was taken unawares by the cavalrymen of Khālid. So he had two ways for escape: to rescue himself and his nine Companions and take refuge in a safe place leaving his encircled army to their fate or endanger himself and call out his Companions to gather and make them a strong front to threading way for his besieged army into the hills of Uhud. This situation manifested the Prophet's genuine and unrivalled bravery. He raised his voice and called out his Companions: "Come to me, servants of Allāh." However, he was sure that the polytheists would hear his voice before Muslims. Actually, polytheists knew of his place and approached him before Muslims.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yaum Al-Khamis, 22nd day of Jumaadal Uula 1447AH, Thursday, 13th November, 2025.  *_HELPING OTHERS WITH INTENTION FOR ALLAH'S HELP IN RETURN_*. BismilLah.  When we help our brothers and sisters in Islam, in reality, we are helping ourselves. The Messenger of ALLAH (S.A.W) said: He who relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, ALLAH Azzawajallah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Judgment. He who makes easy what is difficult, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will make it easy for him in the world and the hereafter. He who conceals the faults of a Muslim, ALLAH ALLAH Azzawajallah will conceal his faults in this ALLAH Azzawajallah world and the Hereafter, for ALLAH helps the servant as long as he helps his brother. Source: Ṣaḥīḥ "Muslim 2699. AlhamdulilLah.  With this I hope with immediate effect we will all strive to help each other in any possible way such as making dua for each other, supporting our relatives and those in need in ou...

THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm athalaatha, 3rd day of Rabeeul Awwal 1447AH, Tuesday, 26th August 2025. *_THE MUSLIM WOMAN AND HER OWN SELF_*. BismilLah.  Islam encourages Muslims in general to stand out among people, readily distinguishable by their dress, appearance and behaviour, so that they will be a good example, worthy of the great message that they bring to humanity. According to the hadith narrated by the great Sahabi Ibn al-Hanzaliyyah, the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) told his Companions, when they were travelling to meet some brothers in faith: "You are going to visit your brothers, so repair your saddles and make sure that you are dressed well, so that you will stand out among people like an adornment, for ALLAH (SWT) does not love ugliness." Reported by Imam Abu Dawud, 4/83, in Kitab al-libas, bab ma ja'a fi isbal al-izar. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) considered an unkempt and careless appearance, and scruffy clothes and furnishings, to be...
