*THE 25 PROPHETS MENTIONED IN THE GLORIOUS QUR-ĀN*

*24. PROPHET ILYĀS (May Allāh's peace be upon him)*

✔️ Family history of Prophet Ilyās (Elias)

He is Ilyās Ibn Yassa and Funahasu Ibn Izaru Ibn Harūn Ibn 'Imrān. This is the brief history of his family.

Almighty Allāh (Sub-haanahu wata'aala) use to send Prophets to Israel in order to preach, teach and remind them to worship only one God (Allāh), that is, what they have forgotten because of their refusal to abide by what they read in Tawrāt (Gospel).

During the time of Israelites, they were not united. They lived in Ash-Shām. The Prophet divided Ash-Shām into different parts and gave the Israelites leadership in order to rule in their respective areas. Then the family of Prophet Harūn, the brother of Prophet Mūsa (Peace be upon them) were assigned to rule Ba'alabakkah and its environ. They are also the relatives of Ilyās. Then Almighty Allāh sent Ilyās as a Prophet to them. During that time there was a ruler called Akhab. He is a great polytheist and he made most of his people to worship idols instead of Almighty Allāh (Sub-haanahu wata'aala). He usually forced them to worship idols.

They have an idol called Ba'al. It is very tall and has four faces. Ibn Is'hāq said: " "Ba'al is one woman they use to worship as god." Then Almighty Allāh says:

Surah As-Saaffat, Verses 124-126:

When he said to his people: "Will you not fear Allah?

"Will you call upon Ba'l (a well- known idol of his nation whom they used to worship) and forsake the Best of creators,

"Allāh, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?"

✔️ Is Prophet Ilyās a messenger of Allāh?

Almighty Allāh says in the Glorious Qur-ān:

Surah As-Saaffat, Verse 123:

And verily, Iliyas (Elias) was one of the Messengers.

*May Allāh's Peace be upon him (Prophet Ilyās). Ameen*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 20th day of Swafar 1447AH, Thursday, 14th August 2025. *_PURIFICATION OF THE HEART_*. BismilLah.  A sister asked me yesterday how we can purify ourselves to achieve the immense benefits mentioned in our reminder yesterday.  The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs).   ALLAH Azzawajal says: He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also, ALLAH Azzawajal says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to ALLAH Azzawajal with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrog...
