*Part 113*

*THE BATTLE OF UHUD continues*

*THE BATTLE INTENSIFIES AROUND THE FLAG AND ITS BEARERS ARE KILLED*

The battle erupted so fiercely and the two armies fought each other violently in the whole battlefield. But the battle at first concentrated on the bearers of the flag which the clan of 'Abdud-Dār bore in turn. Abu Shaiba 'Uthmān Ibn Abu Talhah held the flag and came near to fight saying: "It is the duty of the bearers of the flag to fill the valley with the blood of their enemy or else they will deserve no life." Upon seeing him, Hamzah attacked him and gave him a blow that cut off his arm and his shoulder together and penetrated his navel. Then Abu Sa'ad Ibn Abu Talhah lifted the flag and bore it. But Sa'ad Ibn Abu Waqqās shot an arrow that hit his throat and claimed his life at once. It is said that when Abu Sa'ad called for duel, 'Ali Ibn Abu Tālib confronted and decapitated him with his sword. Then Musāfi' Ibn Talhah Ibn Abu Talhah took hold of the flag and lifted it. 'Asim Ibn Thābit Ibn Abu Al-Aflah shot an arrow at him and killed him. Afterwards his brother Kilāb Ibn Talhah Ibn Abu Talhah held it but suddenly Az-Zubayr Ibnul-'Awwām pounced upon him and fought him to death. Then their brother Al-Jullās Ibn Talhah Ibn Abu Talhah bore it and Talhah Ibn 'Ubaidullah stabbed him to death. Also it was said that 'Asim Ibn Thābit Ibn Abu Al-Aflah shot at him an arrow that claimed his life.

Thus three brothers from the house of Abu Talhah 'Abdullāh Ibn 'Uthmān Ibn 'Abdud-Dār were killed around the flag of the polytheists. Then Artāh Ibn Shurhabil held the flag but he was killed by 'Ali Ibn Abu Tālib. Then it was carried by Shuraih Ibn Qāriz who was killed also by Quzmān. Then it was held by Abu Zaid 'Amr Ibn 'Abdu Manāf Al-'Abdary and the son of Shurhabil Ibn Hāshim Al-'Abdary who were killed by Quzmān as well.

Ten members of the clan of 'Abdud-Dār were killed and none of them survived to carry the flag. Then an Abyssinian bondman who was called Su'āb carried the flag and showed matchless bravery. He fought till his hands were cut off; he kept steadfast and embraced the flag with his chest and neck so that it wouldn't fall down till he was killed saying (in his last breaths): "O Allāh! Have you accepted my excuse?" After Su'āb was killed, the flag fell down and no one carried it again.

GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Ath-thalaatha. 28th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Tuesday 7th May 2024). *_GIVE CHARITY FOR YOUR OWN GOOD_*. Aameen.  Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: The Prophet (SallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "Charity is obligatory everyday on every joint of a human being.* If one helps a person in matters concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride on it or by lifting his luggage on to it, all these will be regarded as charity. A good word, and every step one takes to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is regarded as charity; and guiding somebody on the road is regarded as charity." [Sahih Al-Bukhari, 4/2891]. To show gratitude to ALLAH for keeping your body safe and sound, you should give in charity or do charitable deeds. Narrated Abu Hurairah [radhi-yAllahu 'anhu]: ALLAH'S Messenger (sallallahuAlaihiWasallam) said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one w

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will p
