DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawmul Jumuat. 1st day of Dhul-Hijjah, 1445AH (Friday 7th June 2024).
*THE 10 DAYS OF GOLDEN BENEFITS.* BismilLaahir Rahmanir
AlhamdulilLah today is 1st day of Dhul Hijjah. We pray that ALLAH grant us the opportunity to be part of these great 10 days ahead.
Praise be to ALLAH Who has created Time and has made some times better than others, some months and days and nights better than others, when rewards are multiplied many times, as a mercy towards HIS slaves. This encourages us to do more righteous deeds and make us more eager to worship HIM, so that we renew our efforts to gain a greater share of reward, prepare ourselves for death and offer ourselves in readiness for the Day of Judgement.
We Muslim must understand the value of our lives, increase our worship of ALLAH and persist in doing good deeds until the moment of death. ALLAH says:
"And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty." [al-Hijr 15:99] The mufassireen (commentators) said: "‘The certainty’ means death."
Among the special seasons of worship are the first ten days of Dhu’l-Hijjah, which ALLAH has preferred over all the other days of the year. Ibn ‘Abbaas (may ALLAH be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to ALLAH than these ten days." The people asked, "Not even jihaad for the sake of ALLAH?" He said, "Not even jihaad for the sake of ALLAH, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing." (Reported by al-Bukhaari, 2/457). We should strive to fast as many as we can but not only the fasting but our complete ways of life must change and activate Ramadhan mood in these blessed days.
We MUST avoid any unnecessary arguments in regards to fasting in these blessed days due to debates on fasting on Saturdays or not. It's not haraam to fast but also not sunnah to fast on Saturdays even if it's Arafah day as the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam prohibited it strictly by adding that even if you have no food to eat on Saturday chew the of a tree to avoid fasting except in Ramadhan.
Prohibition supercede permissible acts in Shariah so let's take note. ALLAH knows best.
Also remember today is Friday as such we should strive to undertake all the Friday etiquettes. *_May ALLAH answer our dua and keep guiding us all_*. Aameen.
