*Common Sense is not Common😃*
--------------------------------بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم
Common sense refers to practical, sound judgment or making reasonable decisions and grasping concepts that are generally accepted by the wisest people in the community.
Muslim Faithful!
Allah (swt) knows humans are so busy at day time, and because they will choose to do nothing in the night other than sleeping, HE blessed us with an act of worship that ONLY the PRIVILEGED will sacrifice few minutes, out of the hours of the night to do.
My people!
Amongst the people i always referenced is Abdallah - one of my distance friend who always pay me a visit yearly. The person i told you about that he paid me a visit and got knocked down by a very serious Typhoid & Malaria and yet refused to surrender waking up for Tahajjud. Yes. He is the one i told you about, that have not missed Tahajjud for over 10years EXCEPT for 3 nights. And it's not that the person did not wake up at all for 3 nights in 9years. No! No! No!.. It's just that, he person woke up very late *(20minutes before Fajr prayer time)*, perform ablution and still rush 2 rakaats before the expiration of Tahajjud time. According to this my friend, he considered those 3 nights he woke up late for Tahajjud as a missed nights... Allahu Akbar
This reminds me,
Salim bin
Abdullah binUmar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) reported, on the authority of his father, that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “What an excellent man
Abdullah is! If only he could be performing optional prayers at night.” Salim said that after this, (his father)Abdullah slept very little at night. 📚 Al-Bukhari and Muslim
*Lessons from the above Hadith:*
This Hadith points out the excellence of
Abdullah binUmar (May Allah be pleased with them) as well as the merits of establishing Tahajjud. It also tells us that it is permissible to praise someone in his presence if one is sure that he will not become proud due to that praise. Another aspect of this Hadith is that it's permissible to use someone else's positive lifestyles to motivate others.
Admitted that,
Sleep is an important part of living and is a way of recharging our batteries to prepare ourself to continue our daily activities. But squandering the entire hours of the night sleeping without Tahajjud, suggests that the night have not been better spent or utilized in a more productive way.
Besides,
There is enough time to rest and sleep in our graves. Yes. We must remember that, the life of this world is very SHORT when compared to the life of BARZAKH (Grave)😳. Yes. Did you really know that, even the *last living thing who will die in this world* will sleep for 50,000 years in the grave before the trumpet 🎺 is blown, and ALLAH (swt) commence judgment?😳. Yes. We will all be in our graves after the trumpet is blown for *EXTRA 50,000 years* waiting for Allah (swt) to call us out for judgment🙆♀.
Now,
If we really believe in the above, why should we squander the entire hours of the night night without waking up for Tahajjud when we know that preparing for death is a lifetime’s job?
*The Bitter Truth:*
The reason why we have ONLY very few people amongst the Muslims (worldwide) in TAHAJJUD BUSINESS is simply because *"Common Sense is not Common"* amongst the Muslims.
Therefore,
If u have not yet set ur phone alarm in a repeating mode, to wake u up for midnight nawafil (at least 2 rakaats) everyday till the end of ur life, pls do so immediately. Yes. Allah (swt) loves consistency in any act of worship. And waking up everyday for Tahajjud is not something difficult.. Let assume you wake up by 2AM, use 3minutes to perform ablution, 2minutes to get dressed, 5minutes to establish ONLY 2rakaat nawafil, 5minutes to make Du'a to Allah.. Total time spent = 15minutes. *Everything In 15minutes,* then, go back to catch up with sleep.
