*Days Righteous Deeds are More Beloved to Allah*
[[-- Episode Nine --]]--------------------------------
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
The Day of 'Arafah is on the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar. Following the sighting of the moon, this year the Day of 'Arafah falls on Saturday 15th June 2024.
My people!
The above information is necessary because, one of the reasons that should encourage us to increase in our worship during these blessed First 10days of Dhu'l Hijjah is indicated in the hadeeth narrated: Abu Qatadah that the Prophet (pbuh) said, *“Fasting on the day of Arafah is expiation for two years, the year preceding it and the year following it. And fasting the day of Ashura is expiation for the year preceding it.”* 📚Muslim
Therefore,
Even if you are unable to fast for the whole ten days, try to fast on just the Day of ’Arafah, the 9th of Dhul Hijjah equivalent to Saturday 15th June 2024.. Try this because, just as Laylatul Qadr is the most blessed night of the year, ‘Arafah is the most blessed day of the year.
Now,
*Rewarding Act Number 6:* Do lots of Dhikr
Let’s begin with a simple yet effective action - increasing your dhikr. In Makkah, the Talbiyah will be on every pilgrim’s tongue throughout the day and night; those at home have also been commanded to praise Allah constantly in these ten days.
Although,
One ought to perform a variety of good deeds during these days — especially giving charity, as earlier emphasized, being good to others, and reciting the Qur’an.
But,
Uttering the remembrances of Allah is particularly recommended in these days, wherever we are,, most particularly repeating: *“Allahu akbar,”* Allah is Greatest. Yes It was reported by Bukhari that Ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah used to go out to the market places on the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah saying *“Allahu akbar”* repeatedly, and the people would join them.
Furthermore,
The Prophet (PBUH) said: *"The best supplication is the supplication of the Day of Arafah. And the best that I, and the Prophets before me, have said is “La ilaha illallah, Wahdahu la sharika lah, Lahul-Mulk wa-lahul-Hamd, Yuhyi wa yumit, Wa huwa ala kulli shai’in qadir.”*
It is also authentically reported that the Prophet (saw) said: *“Four words are dearest to Allah: Subhanallah, Alhamdulillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar.”*
Simply put,
*Tahmeed:* Al-hamdu Lillah (All praises be to God)
*Tahleel:* Laa ilaha ill-Allah (There is no god but Allah)
*Tasbeeh:* Subhaan-Allah (Glory be to God)
Or,
Reciting *"Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi"* (Glory be to Allah and praise Him) 100 times or more a day will wipe away sins - no matter how burdensome they are.
