HAJJ AND ACTS OF WORSHIP IN DHUL HIJJAH

THE DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yaum Al-Ithnayn, 26th day of Dhul Qaādah, 1440AH (Monday 29th July, 2019). *_HAJJ AND ACTS OF WORSHIP IN DHUL HIJJAH_*. *BismilLaah*

As the hujjaaj departs towards the most important and meritorious journey of their life, we pray that ALLAH purify their intentions and accept their hajj. Aameen.
Hajj is one of the best acts of worship. It is one of the pillars of Islam with which ALLAAH sent Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam and without which a person’s religious commitment is incomplete.

Worship cannot bring a person closer to ALLAAH and cannot be accepted unless it meets two conditions:
1. Sincerity towards ALLAAH alone, i.e., it is done to seek the Countenance of ALLAAH and the Hereafter, and is not done to show off, to enhance one’s reputation or for worldly gain.
2. Following the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) in word and deed. Following the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) can only be achieving by knowing his Sunnah.

Hence the one who wants to worship ALLAAH by doing any act of worship, Hajj or anything else, has to learn the teachings of the Prophet (peace and blessings of ALLAAH be upon him) concerning it, so that his actions will be in accordance with the Sunnah.

*Hajj is not for fashion or show off as such we MUST discourage our relatives participating to avoid taking photos and videos during the rituals of hajj with aim of making people know they've performed hajj*. *This kind of show off can damage our rewards for the hajj*.

From Today unwards Reminders are aimed at summing  up the description of Hajj as narrated in the Sunnah and also acts of worship in Dhul Hijjah. There are three types of Hajj: Tamattu’, Ifraad and Qiraan and will summarize the meaning of each in the next Reminders from tomorrow be-iznilLah. *_May ALLAH accept the hajj of all those who are participating including my lovely step mum and lots of my inlaws_*. Aameen.

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 20th day of Swafar 1447AH, Thursday, 14th August 2025. *_PURIFICATION OF THE HEART_*. BismilLah.  A sister asked me yesterday how we can purify ourselves to achieve the immense benefits mentioned in our reminder yesterday.  The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs).   ALLAH Azzawajal says: He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also, ALLAH Azzawajal says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to ALLAH Azzawajal with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrog...
