SEEK REFUGE WITH ALLĀH FROM WORRY AND GRIEF

*SEEK REFUGE WITH ALLĀH FROM WORRY AND GRIEF*

*"Every day He is (engaged) in some affair (such as giving honour or disgrace to some, life or death to some)"* [Qur'an 55:29]

I do not think that a wise man would do away with smiling or that a believer would be inclined to be pessimistic and filled with despair. A person may be exposed to circumstances that take away his peace of mind and tranquility, but, in that case, he has to trust that Allāh, the Almighty, will save him from what has befallen him. If he gives in to depression, that will mark the beginning of a total collapse of his will, and all his deeds will be affected by helplessness and incapacity.

Hence, the messenger of Allāh (Blessings and Peace be upon him) used to teach his Companions to seek the help of Allāh to solve their problems. Abu Sa'īd Al-Khudri said: "The Messenger of Allāh entered the mosque one day, and saw a man from among the Ansār, whose name was Abu Umāmah. He said: 'O' Abu Umāmah, why do I see you sitting in the mosque when it is not the time for prayer?' He said: 'Worries and debts, O' Messenger of Allāh. 'He said: 'Shall I not teach you some words which, if you say them, Allāh will take away your worries and pay off your debts? He said, 'Yes, O' Messenger of Allāh. 'He said: 'Say, in the morning and the evening:

*Allahumma inni a 'ūdhu bika min al-hamm wa Al- Huzan, wa a'ūdhu bika min al-'ajzi wal-kasal, wa'a'ūdhu bika min al-bukhli wal-jubn, wa-a'ūdhu bika min ghalbat ad-dayn wa wa ar-rijāl.*

*(O' Allāh, I seek refuge with You from distress and grief, and I seek refuge with You from incapacity And lazinesand I seek refuge with You from miserliness and cowardice, and I seek refuge with You from the burden of debt and from being over-powered by men).'" (Narrated Abu Dāwud)*

He (Abu Umāmah) said: "I did that, and Allāh took away my worries and paid off my debt for me."

*"An ulcer is not the result of what you consume, it is the result of what consumes."*

NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDERS. Yawm Arba'a. 29th day of Shaw'waal, 1445AH (Wednesday 8th May 2024). *_NOTHING HAPPENS WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF ALLAH_*. BismilLah.  Even though feelings of Panic, stress/worries etc are part of life, they must not reduce our acts of worship or trust in ALLAH. The more a man turns to ALLAH and focuses on HIM, the more he will feel a sense of peace and comfort, to an extent that no one knows except ALLAH. Hence those who know ALLAH, are close to HIM and fear HIM are the happiest of people, to such an extent that one of them said, in a well-known expression: “If the kings and the sons of kings knew what joy we have, they would fight us for it with the sword.” This is also what is expressed in the Qur’an, as ALLAH says: “Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him ALLAH will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and ALLAH will ...

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today?

One of the question asked is can a Christian enter Jannah today? Alhamdulillah, it is clear from Quran and hadiths that any christian who dies believing Jesus is God or son of God and do not believe in prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him will enter hellfire. Allah says, Al-Ma'idah 5:17 They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allāh is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allāh at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allāh belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He wills, and Allāh is over all things competent.

PURIFICATION OF THE HEART

DAILY ISLAMIC REMINDER. Yawm al-khamis, 20th day of Swafar 1447AH, Thursday, 14th August 2025. *_PURIFICATION OF THE HEART_*. BismilLah.  A sister asked me yesterday how we can purify ourselves to achieve the immense benefits mentioned in our reminder yesterday.  The command to purify our hearts from sins was an essential Islamic teaching ever since the early stages of the revelation in Mecca. This is known as “purification of the soul” (tazkiyyat an-nafs).   ALLAH Azzawajal says: He has succeeded who purifies the soul, and he has failed who corrupts the soul. Surah Ash-Shams 91:9-10. Also, ALLAH Azzawajal says: A day when there will be no benefit in wealth or children, but only in he who comes to ALLAH Azzawajal with a pure heart. Surah Ash-Shu’ara 26:88-89.  We learn from these verses that our success in the Hereafter depends upon the purification of our hearts in this life. We must purify our hearts from spiritual sins such as greed, malice, envy, arrog...
