*40 Hadīths For Children With Stories*
*Episode 12: Anger*
Halit was a very strong child. He could lift a stool straight up from the ground with only one hand.
Nobody could beat him at school in wrestling. He mostly wrestled against his friend Nuraddeen.
One day Nuraddeen and Halit wrestled in the schoolyard again. Nuraddeen lost. He was so angry that he went into the classroom and scribbled all over Halit's books.
This made Halit very angry. He jumped on Nuraddeen and punched him on the nose.
Nuraddeen's nose started to bleed, and the blood got all over his clothes and on the classroom floor.
Their classmates all fell bad when they saw what had happened. The teacher scolded Halit and told him the following Hadīth:
ليس الشديد بالصرعةإنما الشديد الذي يملك نفسه عند الغضب
رواه البخاري
*"A strong person is not the one who beats his rivals in wrestling, but a strong person is the one who controls his anger."*
*[Bukhāri]*
Source of the Hadīth: Bukhāri, Kitāb al-Adab, Hadīth Number 76.
*Pearls Of Motivation*
Many of us are guilty of overthinking. Remember, the battle starts in your mind. Don’t defeat yourself in your own mind before you’ve even started. Focus your mind in the right direction. Be positive about things. You will see the difference.
