Al-Nu’man ibn Bashirرضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:


*أَلَا وَإِنَّ فِي الْجَسَدِ مُضْغَةً إِذَا صَلَحَتْ صَلَحَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ وَإِذَا فَسَدَتْ فَسَدَ الْجَسَدُ كُلُّهُ أَلَا وَهِيَ الْقَلْبُ*


_Verily, in the body is a piece of flesh which, if sound, the entire body is sound, and if corrupt, the entire body is corrupt. *Truly, it is the heart*._

[Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 52]

_


If you make the heart sound, you will never lie.


If you make the heart sound, you will never steal or lie.


If you make the heart sound, you will never look at Haram.


If you make the heart sound, you will never think about Haram


If you make the heart sound, you will never do Haram!

Allah ﷻ says 


*إِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ تَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ*


_Indeed Prayer prevents [a person] from Immorality and Evil actions._

[29:45]

_

We see that many people sin, right after they step out the masjid!

They sin right after they pray! 

They sin while sitting in the house of Allah ﷻ! 

_

So did Allah ﷻ lie? 

Of course He ﷻ didn't!

_

Rather the Salah is a prevention, but the deficiency is with the one who stands to pray it! 

_

Thus the question is,

*Where are our hearts and minds during Salah?*

*Are they concentrating or wandering?*

_Be truthful with yourselves!_

_

And this is just one example of many! 

Abu Dharr رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

_Wealth is in the heart and poverty is in the heart. Whoever is wealthy in his heart will not be harmed no matter what happens in the world. Whoever is impoverished in his heart will not be satisfied no matter how much he has in the world. Verily, he will only be harmed by the greed of his own soul._

[Al-Mu’jam al-Kabīr 1618, Grade: Sahih]

We should change this.

So dedicate time to self-reflection, repentance in seclusion and self-correction!

Amr ibn Shurahbil reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

_Shall I tell you about what will rid the heart of impurities? *Fasting three days of every month.*_

[Sunan al-Nasā’ī 2385, Grade: Sahih li ghayrihi]

_

May Allah ﷻ strengthen our hearts keep it steadfast.


*يَا مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ*


_O Turner of the hearts, affirm my heart upon Your religion!_

*آمِيْن يَارَبَّ الْعَالَمِينْ*

Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah said: "Our Lord descends to the lowest heaven during the last third of the night, inquiring: 'Who will call on Me so that I may respond to him?
